Where did my "smile" go?

A few years ago, I knew a young woman who would wake up every morning excited about her day. She would look into the mirror and smile at her reflection. She would believe her husband when he said she was beautiful. She laughed at her daughter when she would say, "I want to grow up to be just like you mom." This young woman was confident, motivated and full of life. She loved herself and believed that she deserved love. I miss that young woman.....I miss me every day. I know the exact time in my ...
I know the exact time in my life that I started to disappear....it was when the hospice nurse called me at work telling me that my mom was showing signs of shutting down and I needed to come home. When I arrived at home, my mom smiled at me and said "I'm so glad youíre here." We held each other as we cried and with a final "I love you" she passed away 24hrs later. My mom was a part of my soul and I've been trying to fill that hole with food ever since she left. Now, 70lbs heavier, Iíve become someone I don't even know... I'm desperately looking for that inner "smile" when I look at myself in the mirror. My husband is looking for his wife, his best friend, his marriage. My daughter is looking for her mother she wanted to be like. I'm at my crossroad and I finally want to do something about it. I have the support of a dear friend who introduced me to spark people and has made sure I'm motivated every day. Thank you dear friend.......and as for my "smile", I'm coming for you.

My Goals:
I am 33 years old and have been married for 12 years. I have a 9yr old daughter and a 20month old son. My goal is to be a wife and mother they've never met before! I'm going for a 10lb goal right now, but my long term goal is to be 150lbs and off blood pressure medication. I also want to: run a half marathon by June of 2012; run Hood to Coast in 2012; complete a small triathlon in 2012; teach my children to be active; go on a REAL honeymoon with my husband. Whew...

ďWellness isnít about deprivation and itís not about perfection. It is about pointing yourself in the direction of growth, training yourself to get comfortable with your highest potential, and then taking small steps to support that shift. Itís about showing up for yourself, day by day, and then one day finding that youíve undergone a transformation.Ē
