Coming Into My Own, Again

I'm just beginning. I want to be proud of my body again as I was when I was younger. Not that I want a younger body, but I want to be happy in my own skin again. __

Wait a minute, ... that's not right. The problem is I feel too comfortable in my body right now. I have become complacent with my body and my lifestyle. I want to feel more alive and vital, I want to get my blood pressure, and GERD resolved, and get this weight off of me. I can't even remember what it feels like to be ...

Wait a minute, ... that's not right. The problem is I feel too comfortable in my body right now. I have become complacent with my body and my lifestyle. I want to feel more alive and vital, I want to get my blood pressure, and GERD resolved, and get this weight off of me. I can't even remember what it feels like to be a normal weight.

It's going to take a lot of uncomfortableness for me to get to my goal. That means a whole lifestyle change. And I am up for it.

Welcome to SparkPeople!! This is a wonderful site with so many resources like articles, trackers, and community SparkTeams to help give you support and keep you motivated. See how many SparkPoints you can get each day and this will help you find and use many of the tools of the site. Best of luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!

Why are you cooking every night? I eat a lot of raw veggies and cold cuts.. or soups or Lean Cuisine meals. How about cooking a lot of chicken, big pan of rice, and big container of oatmeal and put that away for the week. Also you can do casseroles or soups ahead of time and portion them out each day.

By joining SP you made the first step on your journey to better health!

I use SP recipes all the time. Like you, I cook for 2. I created individual cookbooks on this site for easy access. One for veggies only, one for slow-cooker, one for desserts, one for meatless dishes, you get the picture. It takes a little time to research what you would like to prepare but once you find the recipe, save it in your personal recipe box here at the site. I found cooking several meals ahead of time (on weekends when I have more time to prepare) to be very helpful. Takes stress out of the equation during the work-week. I type in a key ingredient (say, chicken for example) into the search and watch all the different recipes containing it pop-up.

Tracking your nutrition and exercise/activities on the "my Nutrition" and "myFitiness" trackers is key to success. Familiarize yourself with it and use it daily. Also, get active! Join a SparkPeople team of your interest for great challenges to get you started. Team members offer an abundance of support, encouragement, and advice. I invite you to visit my SparkPage. I'm confident you will succeed in reaching your goals!
