Spark has found me with many ups and downs, both with my weight and my personal life.
Most of the time, I would rebound nicely. My positive, see the good in everything, self, was always there, to adjust.
In May 2014, my oldest son, Kenny, passed away and the me I was, would never return. The death of a child changes things in ways that no one can put into words.
So after months of just existing, moving in slow motion through what was left, I find myself at a point where my faith has grown, leaps and bounds and filled me with renewed hope. Death is nothing to be feared, for we shall all be together, again. Our goodness goes on forever. In the meantime, Kenny is closer than I think. He would not want his death to steal all of my childlike joy, that I always found in the smallest of things.
He would not want my health to decline. Always helping me while he was alive, he now is helping me, still.
The new me, is about to be born. I have much to learn, but I already know that along with my Faith, health is also a top priority.
Thank you, spark friends for supporting me through the most difficult thing that I have ever experienced.
Now on to a healthier me, physically, mentally and spiritually.
Kenny will be smiling down.

America’s Founding Fathers -- George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton and James Monroe -- there wouldn’t be an Independence Day to celebrate.

While most Americans know that the U.S.’s birthday is celebrated on July 4, it’s a misconception that all the signers of the Declaration of Independence signed it on the Fourth of July. For more fun facts about America’s Independence Day, keep reading:

    1. How many people signed the Declaration of Independence on July Fourth?

    Two.

    2. What day did most signers of the Declaration of Independence actually sign the document?
    Aug. 2, 1776.
