WOW! I only knew about casein. I can't believe how many there are. Those symptoms sure sound familiar. I used to suffer from serious bloating and constipation everyday. Ever since switching I have no problem what so ever. I didn't even eat a lot of it, but it just goes to show you that even a little is VERY toxic. Thanks so much for sharing your info!
It is interesting that you mention cow protein (casin) as an allergy factor. In fact I was just talking about that last night with my husband. I was cleaning out the fridge and closely reading labels--you know how you can have jars of stuff that are years old and not ever use it. Anyway, I was throwing out anything with a trace of animal in it, only to discover that the rice cheese that we had bought had casin in it! I was pissed off, let me tell you! It's the casin in milk that most people have such a bad reaction to in the first place. Many think it is the lactose, but more often than not it is the protein. Just goes to show you that you have to watch and read ALL labels closely--even those that say vegan right on them.

hi there...i was reading one of your posts and i thought this woman rocks...so here i am checking out your page. i'm a new vegan (3 months) so i'm happy to see that after 7 years you are still going strong...it IS possible.
so. about the diet soda...have you gotten to the chapter in skinny bitch where they talk about that?? you'll want to cut it completely when you do. i don't even chew sugarless gum anymore...
