My story starts on March 12, 1984, when I was born. When I was younger, around 5 or 6, I was a fairly normal sized child. When I got a little older, starting around age 10, I was the same size as my 17 year old sister. The growing only escalated until I topped the scales at around 240 lbs the summer after I graduated High School (June 2002). In November 2002, I decided to make a change and bought a treadmill and started watching what I ate. I had NEVER dieted, the healthy way, in my whole entire life. I was shocked that I lost around 80 pounds by May 2003. I was satisfied at 160 and I have a hard time remembering, but I want to say that I continued watching what I ate and exercising until December 2003. Around that time I discovered alcohol, clubs, cigarettes, fast food trips at 2:30 AM and again the next morning, etc. I don't regret those times because they were alot of fun, but I put my health/weight on the back burner and that was a mistake. Flash forward to 2009: I am close to where I started seven years ago. I've dieted numerous times since 2004. I would lose 10-20 lbs and then gain it all back and then some. I look at pictures of myself now and am so saddened to see the girl that I was in 2002. I swore to myself that I would never see her again, but I am on my way to becoming a more healthy and positively better me!
My short term goal is to lose 45.5 pounds by December 31, 2009. This will take me out of the Obese BMI section. After that, I would like to lose another 31 pounds; ultimately weighing in at 160.
I started my journey on July 13, 2009 at 236.5 pounds. I decided that I would take this journey week by week and that mentality has worked for me. I allow myself a "cheat" meal once every week (typically on Saturday nights)...this has helped me TREMENDOUSLY and it is kind of what keeps me going. It gives me something to look forward to and whatever I'm craving that week, I just tell myself I can have it on Saturday and once I do, the craving is gone.

Had a MAJOR bump in the road, that lasted 7 months, but as of July 13, 2010 I am back on track! I currently weigh 185 pounds and my goal is to be 140 by the end of the year.

My first goal is to get to 190. This will get me out of the Obese (SAD FACE!) BMI and into the Overweight section of my BMI. After that, I would like to get to 160-165. At that time I will re-evaluate my goals to see if I should lose any additional weight. I can't remember what I look like at 160!
To lead a healthy lifestyle.
To make it to the gym at least 4 times a week.
To eat consistently clean everyday.
To have the courage to pick myself back up and start again the next day if for some reason I get off track.

Watching what I eat and moving my body!
I currently work out four times a week, alternating a Step Aerobics class and a Cardio Circuit class at my local Ballys. I plan to increase my workouts to five times a week starting 10/19/09. When I first started working out, I started at 3x/week then increased to 4x and now I am up to 5x!
