Turning 54 this year... want to feel young and vibrant again!

I have never been this heavy, even during both my pregnancies. I am sad about this, especially because I am known to be such a healthy person. I know nutrition, never eat fast or fried foods. My problem is usually portion sizes. I always say 'Ok, just a couple of more bites. It can't hurt.' Started tracking faithfully as of March 2016 and learning a lot about my eating habits!

I want to lose 50 lbs over the next 6 to 8 months. That means that I will lose 1 to 2 pounds per week.

I'm going to keep my calories between 1200 and 1300 per day. Aiming to exercise at least 3 times per week.

CurlyCurly - You always know how to make me feel better. Wish I could remedy your heat wave. Believe me, Texas has lots of the same. I am better this evening, finally! Some stress has been relieved, and things are looking up, and I joined a 5K Challenge and hooked up with a walking training plan. I figured by doing this, I will make myself do my cardio all the time. I find I have to have some form of accountability, or I slack off. Tonight, it was after 8:00 p.m. before it was cool enough to walk. You take it easy - heat is a serious matter when exercising. I had my time off, and you will come back like I did when the time is right.

Oh thank you for your comment on my SparkPage. It is awful when you are not losing any pounds at all, or gaining as you said. I bet yours is temporary, and I just want you to know, that just knowing I am not struggling alone with this is so nice. You helped me a whole lot. Plus, I felt better just remembering I am done with the PMS! ha ha... hope you feel better soon. I will say a prayer for this to pass quickly and get all lined out in the near future for you. emoticon
