It's time - once again - to be the best me possible! I am so tired of yo-yo dieting! I know how to lose weight - now I am determined to lose it and keep it off.

I joined Spark People in April 2012 to help with motivation and accountability. I discovered that the boot camp challenges really motivated me to get off the couch and get moving. I have tried losing weight the last few years without exercising, and it just doesn't work.

July 11, 2012 : Yahoo! I have completed three challenges and have lost 10 pounds. I also did not weigh myself for 10 weeks, until July 1st. That helped - I get so upset when the scale doesn't move quickly enough for my liking, even though I can see results.

I am finding it easier to exercise having goals to reach. I love receiving the exercise trophies. Who would think that would get me off the couch and out the door? Last month, I was so excited to get the 1000 minute trophy - determined to do it again this month!

August 13, 2012 - So excited to have lost 5 more pounds. I love when I can't keep my shorts up! We are relearning that we can still eat ice-cream - but this time with a small scoop on top of a fruit salad. I can even have ice-cream in the house, without it calling my name!

October 6, 2012 Well, 22 pounds are now off - I'm at my wedding weight! So happy. Very motivated to keep on - hoping to reach goal by Christmas.

December 2, 2012 I made it! 30 pounds gone! Sayonara and good riddance! Will lose a few more but this feels awesome!

December 14, 2012 Yahoo! I've reached my goal of 118 pounds. Feel very light!

January 1, 2013 Hurrary! I maintained over the holiday. Plus my exercise minutes totalled 9000! Woo hoo! My goal now is to lose a few more pounds, and keep exercising and toning up.

Good luck to all fellow Sparkers. This is a wonderful journey to take with others on the path to healthy living!

Fitness Minutes: 12,571

My Goals:
~ I would like to lose 30 pounds.

* Made it! 32 pounds lost!

~ Healthy eating - 1500 calories a day.

* Am eating more fruit and veggies.

~ Daily exercise. Make it a habit.

* Cardio 30 min. - love walking!

~ Start up strength training after a long hiatus.

* Using weights and resistance bands for 20 minutes after I walk. Now have toned shoulders and calf muscles. Working on those darn triceps!


My Program:
~ Joined Spark People! I decided to ignore the scale because that always discourages me and triggers a binge.

~ Completed "28 day Boot camp."

~ Then completed "Exercise 10 minutes a day bootcamp."

~Finished 28-day Spring into Shape Boot Camp.

~ Joined a challenge on July 1st on the 50+ SparkTeam to lose 12 pounds by Dec. 12th. Excited and motivated! This challenge only requires weigh-ins twice a month which should help me avoid "diet rage".

* Hooray! Achieved 12 pound loss on Oct. 1st for a total loss of 22 pounds.

- Dec. 14th : Reached goal - 32 pounds gone!! Happy dance!

I teach elementary school and love my job! I have a wonderful husband and two teenage children.

I love to read and cook. I'm really enjoying all the healthy recipes I have found on Spark Recipes.
