My goal is to learn a new way of life. This is not just getting to a finish line. Through this journey I'm learning how and why I got to the weight I was.
I'm stripping (yeah baby!) - peeling off, layer by layer, the emotional baggage that got me to nearly 300 pounds. Unlike diets I have been on in the past, my journey with Spark is not based on all or nothing: success or failure - going up on the scale and throwing in the towel. Instead, I'm treating this like a graph - with the overall trend going downwards.
I'm rewarding myself with a trip when I reach my goal. I still have a few months to figure out the destination, but somewhere 75,000 frequent flyer miles will take me!
I try to keep breakfast and lunch very similar every day and leave dinner as my wild card. That way it's hard to go off the rails too much when 2/3s of your day has been good.
I strength train twice a week and do 45 minutes of cardio 4 times/week.
I'm determined to get that scale moving now and get the rest of my fat off. I've been reading Richard Bernstein MD's "The Diabetes Diet" and learning so much about INSULIN RESISTANCE and why I regain. I Don't have diabetes but I do have Insulin Resistance. He has lectures on YouTube.
