Every moment is an opportunity for change

Hi! My name is Jess and welcome to my Sparkpage.

I believe every moment is an opportunity for change. Sometimes life can get in the way and knock you down, but at long as you get back up you're a winner.

I've been a member of this wonderful site for quite a few years now. Several years ago I lost over 40 lbs with SP and revamped my whole entire lifestyle. Look to the left. That was me then. A healthy, happy 20-something year old relishing in the fact that she was ...

A healthy, happy 20-something year old relishing in the fact that she was finally at a normal weight for the first time EVER!

Then life happened. A divorce and all the things that came along with it. I fell off the bandwagon, stopped caring about myself, and slowly but surely the weight returned.

So now I'm back. It's been a struggle, but I'm determined to exceed my goals. I've done it before and I know I can do it again. Here is what I am striving to accomplish:

-Reduce body weight in 5% increments starting from a baseline of 155lbs (29.3 BMI, Oh my!)

5% (-8lbs/147lbs/27.8 bmi) by 12/7/12.
10% (-16lbs/139lbs/26.3 bmi) by Valentines day.
15% (-23lbs/132lbs/25 bmi) by my birthday in April.
20% (-31lbs/124lbs/23.5 bmi) by early summer.
25% (-39lbs/116lbs/22 bmi) by the end of summer.
30% (-46lbs/109lbs/20.6 bmi) by this time next year.

-Be able to do a back-walkover, handstand (again), and the splits. A split jump would be super cool too! Oh, and a pull-up. I've never been able to lift by own body weight, so that's gonna change.

-Increase my cardiovascular fitness enough so that I can jog more than 5 mins without getting winded. I may start the Couch-to-5K program.

thanks for the comment on my blog; yeah, well, i don't intend to be the "thinnest ever" but i've got a bit more room to lose some weight; plus my goal of 54 kg / 121 lbs is actually ideal for my 5'2" frame; right, i shouldn't compare myself to someone 10 yrs younger than me :( gaaah where did time fly? lol
