With the help of Sparks and my Sparks friends I lost 20 lbs. last year. However, I fell back into the same old habits and those 20 lbs have come back. In addition I had foot surgery which sidelined my exercsing for awhile and quite honestly I have not had the same intensity that I had before surgery.I also have had some lets just say hormonal changes and been put on medication which is making the weight harder to come off. I have every diet book and subscribe to every health and fitness magazine. Too much information is not always a good thing. I am tossing the books and cancelling the magazines. Bottom line I need to learn portion control and work out harder. Last year I was running 3 miles 4 to 5 times a day. Because of the foot surgery I am running/walking those same miles but since I am experiencing some pain/discomfort I am not doing it with the same intensity. So, starting today I am cutting my portions and working out harder. I began a kettlebell workout a couple of weeks ago in addition to cardio. I am having surgery on the other foot Oct. 22 so I will have to be creative with my exercsing for awhile. I am going to Hawaii on June 1, 2011 for my 30th wedding anniversary and I really want to feel good about myself. So here goes.

Drinking lots of water and exercising...basically being healthy!

Married for 29 years; I have a 27 year old son and a 24 year old daughter...oh, and a grandpuppy! I am a die hard Cubs fan who goes to as many games as possible.

Other Information:
Last year ran as much as 6.5 miles at one time without interruption (treadmill). After foot surgery trying to get back to where I was.

    Hi my friend! I hear you're struggling. It's been a while since I heard from you so I thought I'd stop by with emoticon emoticon emoticon and let you know you are not alone. My scale was moving in the wrong direction for a while but I am not sweating the small stuff. In fact I just try to be grateful I don't have too much "big" stuff to sweat & try to remember to be patient as well as grateful fo what good there is in life!

    Sorry you are struggling. I've been watching some motivational videos that are helping me. Go to it's free, and he tells you stuff you need to hear. Basically, you have to change the way you think. No easy task, I know. But little by little, you can do it. If you are working out and eating right and still not losing, maybe ask your doctor what more you can do. Otherwise, it just takes hard work and discipline and maybe cutting your calories more. You can do it Donna,,I believe in you!
