Returning to SparkPeople

I've been a member of SparkPeople for awhile. I used it routinely for over a year and had wonderful success. I lost almost 80 pounds and have kept that weight off for over a year now. I've actually gone up a few pounds, but that's muscle as I've added a lot more weight training to my routines and have continued to lower my body fat percentage.

My goals have changed a bit over time as I've continued/changed my fitness regimen. I do still want to shed the last 15 pounds of excess ...

My goals have changed a bit over time as I've continued/changed my fitness regimen. I do still want to shed the last 15 pounds of excess weight, but I'm more concentrated on continuing to improve my running endurance (and speed) and also continuing to build my muscle tone.

I am insulin resistant so I'm attempting to follow a low glycemic diet (which is different than low carb and much more challenging to find information on!).

I'm also working on eating small meals every few hours as my doctor has recommended (and which I know is the best way to fuel your body).

COMPLETED RACES AND STATS:
12/03/06 6:00PM - Festival of Lights Walk/Run
Stats: 3.2 miles completed in 39:53

04/26/07 7:15pm - CitiStreet Corporate Run (5K)
Stats: 3.2 miles completed in 38:25

09/21/07 8:00am - Children's Way 5K
Stats: 3.2 miles completed in 35:57

10/20/07 8:00am - Race For The Cure (5K)
Stats: 3.2 miles completed in 31:52

12/31/2007 1:00pm - Gator Bowl 5K
Stats: 3.2 miles completed in 34:11

03/08/08 8:30am - Gate River Run (15K)
Stats: 9.41 miles completed in 2:00:57

My Goals:
I'm 5'11" and I'm carrying about 15 extra pounds of fat that I would like to shed.

Goals:
- Improve my race times (running)

- Complete a half-marathon

My Program:
Diet:
Low Glycemic
1600-1700 calories a day (broken up into at least 4-5 small meals per day)

Exericse:
Current training program for running is from Hal Higdon's book Run Fast (speed training).
- Run 6 Days (training)
- Weights on M, W, Sat
- Cycling on Tues & Thurs

Personal Information:
I live and work in Jacksonville, FL with my husband, Shaun and our border collie mix Destiny. I love running, going to the beach, sunshine, warm breezes, NASCAR, football, reading, and RV camping.

I'm a neat freak and I'm pretty anal about keeping my life organized.

I'm also an eternal optimist!
