Fill your mind with compassion
May you always have an angel by your side, watching out for you in all the things you do.
“Colour is the fruit of life”.
An holistic approach to nutrition & wellbeing encompassing the mind, body and spirit.
It’s my belief that health begins at cell level and filters throughout the body, which in turn affects our mental and emotional health and wellbeing. In other words, good health stems from inside out. Our body is an outer reflection of what is inside.
Although overweight my main aim is to eat a more healthy and nutritious diet, which means upping the vitamin and mineral intake through wholesome, natural foods and dumping the bad fats and sugars from fast foods and sweets. The goal is to establish a pattern that will be easily maintainable, where any weight loss will be sustainable just through healthy eating.
Having had serious health issues in 2007 with oesophageal cancer, and now calling myself a cancer survivor, it is essential that I be and do the very best that I can to ensure a healthy and positive outlook.
My goals are many, but food-wise my aim is to eat as healthily as possible and to exercise in small amounts every day. Weight loss is not the ultimate aim, but would definitely be a big bonus.
To meet the above goals I grow my own salads and herbs in a polythene greenhouse and in various garden containers on the patio. Produce such as fruit and veg is locally sourced from Farm Shops and organically grown. I avoid anything that contains artificial sweeteners and am gradually managing to cut down on processed foods altogether. We eat fish three times a week and occasionally eat red meat once a month or so. I use a steamer for cooking and if using oil I prefer Olive Oil or Flax Seed Oil. We eat plenty of whole foods, but my enormous weakness is chocolate and ice cream, both of which cause me health problems such as sickness, Dumping Syndrome and acid reflux. You would think that this would be enough to deter anyone from eating those things, but as I said, I really do love ice cream.
Exercise is gentle – walking our lovely dog every day, Tai Chi twice a week and working out to a DVD once a week (when possible).
I live with my wonderful husband and my cat and dog in the UK. My hobbies include cooking, art, creative writing, collecting crystals, reading, computer games and music – especially Native American music, rock and opera, so quite diverse. Health-wise my current status is four years post cancer treatment, which involved chemotherapy and 8 hour major surgery to remove the oesophagus and replace it with the stomach. I can eat normally, but in smaller amounts and quite often experience digestive problems. Since then, I’ve also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which is quite debilitating in that it causes fatigue and muscular pains. However, my attitude is “Can Do” and I have a positive outlook helped by my husband’s sunny and easy-going nature. In spite of these problems, I do have good days and consider myself very fortunate.

I love your Pom...My mom had a pom...the day she passed away in '06 her dog passed...they were so connected on so many levels...What's his/her name?
I know it is so hard...Bunny looks so confused...she stares out the sliding door...watches me intently, follows me everywhere.
I am taking her for lots of walks...Her appetite for her reg. food is not good...but she was really never a fan of dry food...
Woofie was my heat rock that loved to snug up to me at night.
Such a great dog...My heart breaks thinking of such a champion! Yes maybe one day I will get a playmate for Bunny she really needs one!
I love animals...
Thank you for all your loving comments and encouragements at this low time for me...
I love you today, happy 4th of July!
