Since Spring is sort of here I decided to redecorate my page.

I discovered Sparks in December of 2007 after having been on my own program for 7 months and had lost 31 pounds. Sparks has literally put a spark in my diet.

I am 77 years old and a widow. I was married to a wonderful man for almost 52 years. He passed away from cancer in 1999 and I have been rattling around since then without purpose. I gained a lot of weight and am now trying to get back on track.

I have 5 (children (2 boys and 3 girls) ranging from 49 to 59, Nine grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. They are all just great.

By occupation I am an artist but have been pretty slow at production since my husband died. We worked together in the business. Me painting and him framing and matting. I have a website if anyone wants to see what I am talking about. . www.johnyecruse.com

I am real excited about this site but from the ones I have read I seem to be much older than the rest of you. I would love to hear from anyone and enjoy reading about your experiences.

Stopping by to see how you are doing. I hope you didn't quit. How are your children in Seattle? Have you gotten to go visit them? How is your painting coming? I sure wish I'd been born with such talent. Can't draw a STICK FIGURE. emoticon

Your pictures are so beautiful. How I envy your talent as an artist. I'm thrilled to be down 30# now and when I got on the scale this morning and I'd lost 4# I was so happy since it hadn't moved for the past 2 months. I didn't really care, since it was cold weather and I wasn't trying to lose, but keep from gaining. With it getting warm, I'll drop more now.
You were lucky to have such a wonderful husband for so many years. I read that only 11% of people are truly happy with the person they first married. 57% of them get divorced. My oldest son is 33 and hasn't married, but had two long-term girlfriends, which don't count as divorces. I hope he stays with this third one he has now.

Hi Crusf1, I appreciate your very nice comments. You have a beautiful family and I see you're on your way to getting healthy! I hope to have as much success as you're having. I was born in Lubbuck, Texas and grew up in Victoria, Texas, until I cam here to Ohio. I love Texas and hope to end up there someday. Love Mary Lou

Oh, Hon, I'm so happy to hear from you!!! You have such a beautiful family. I'm glad you have been doing well. I'm at 188# now, too, so we can do this. Yes, I saw on the news what an awful winter Washington State was having. I hate winter, so I'll be thrilled when it warms up here and I won't want to eat constantly like I do when it is cold. (Must be in our Genes from our ancestors who starved in the winter, so our bodies want to conserve every calorie).
