trying something other than smirking at adversity
My first bio here read, "I'm cautiously optimistic. We'll see how it goes." The next one read: "I have reason to be optimistic. I can definitely do this." My new one reads: "I had a baby and took two steps backwards, weight-wise, and then was grounded by having had a caesarian. Oops. But hey, I can still do this." My first bio here read, "I'm cautiously optimistic. We'll see how it goes." The next one read: "I have reason to be optimistic. I can definitely do this." My new one reads: "I had a baby and took two steps backwards, weight-wise, and then was grounded by having had a caesarian. Oops. But hey, I can still do this." I'm a thirtysomething mom married to a fantastic guy, who spends a lot of time doting on our brilliant 12-year-old son and marvelous infant daughter. I spent my life as the annoyingly smart fat kid, and turned into one of those people who cultivate crazy sparkling personality to help them deal with how very little we think of ourselves, and how badly the world likes to treat us, but! It's time to blossom and be genuinely fabulous inside and out, so here I am. I'm an avid camper, hiker, outdoors enthusiast, math nerd, reader, writer, gardener and sewing machine construction artist, specializing in custom frankenclothes; I keep just a few plants these days due to space restrictions at the moment, but that's completely ok. I also love to bake, cook and make jam. I work a soulless corporate job to pay the bills, but am going back to school shortly for my severe case of mathnerdism to see what good use I might be able to bend it toward. :) I started belly dancing 2.5 years ago and realized that the bellydancer inside my... well. belly, says she wants to come out and play, and so I am amping up the cardio and the dance practice so that I can actually meet up with her in a sparkly bra and low-slung skirt, belly free to roam as nature intended. I had a bit of a setback, having been pregnant for the majority of last year, but am back on track, even though I feel like I'm always ravenous, thanks to the breastfeeding. I love my family (best family EVAR), animals, plants, friends, music, dancing, my xbox (omg my xbox), fluffy pillows, corsets, costumes, homemade clothes, sunshine, tattoos, photography, the beach, caramel apple martinis (diet or no diet, you will take them only from my cold, dead hands) , martial arts, singing along with any damn thing, learning everything anyone (or the internet) want to teach me, and being a smartass. If this sounds fantastic to you, it's only because you don't have to live with me and my frenetic goofiness. If this sounds like you, drop me a line. We'll commiserate. :D

My Goals:
Goal: Belly dance. A lot. In a proper costume. That means fixing this flab issue and building up both cardio and muscle endurance, not to mention coordination and muscle memory. I don't have an exact number in mind, but my initial big goal is under 200 by the end of the year, with 175 as the arbitrary end point. I never want to be a stick figure, so we'll see how a proper costume looks on then, and reassess as necessary.
My Program:
At the moment, I'm lucky to get out and walk around everyday, but I'm working on it. Watch this space.
Personal Information:
I'm on a mission, and thus, cannot be stopped.
