I'm a 46 year old homeschool Mom who lives with her family on the shores of Lake Michigan in Holland, MI. Our 4 children range in age from 19 to 3 years old, so college to potty training! Being pregnant at 43 and nursing for 3 years took it's toll on my weight. Plus, the fact that I LOVE to cook, eat, and drink well and I need to learn portion control. I'm also a pastor, although I stay home with my kids. A 50 hour week, plus evening meetings and working every weekend is not conducive to ...

Well what a nice surprise to come home from our spring retreat and find a nice message from you. I haven't heard of the perspectives group, but I will look it up (hopefully tomorrow at work). Easter was definitely inspiring and I have very much been blessed by the encouragement and molding God has done in my life. Diet wise not so good with the retreat. Tempting snacks that I gave into (chips and dip, brownies) but I did have my salad at lunch (brought from home) and my breakfast was the same (home again) and I did eat fresh carrots/cucumber/bell peppers/celery with my lunches/dinner. So...we'll see what my weight is tomorrow morning. Tonight's dinner wasn't that great. But I'm looking forward to working out again...now that my work heavy project is over.
Looking forward to your skiing pics! God bless ya sistah!

Well good evening to you (though...it's prob much later for you over there). I'm glad that you were encouraged by the goodie...man I sure love those things! And that's cool about missions...I think that's the one field that I've definitely not had much desire for until recently...although definitely not thinking it's a "go out there" desire, more of a conviction to support I suppose. We had our girls spa day today for church and I did the devotional on Mary of Bethany...Definitely made me humble, just the whole process of going through prepping for something like that (like a mini bible study)...and even more humble and "real" when I ended up crying in front of the whole group for a few minutes, and had to push through to get the words out. A couple of girls said they were encouraged by different parts of the devotion, so that's cool that it wasn't just one point that got them...that was really my prayer. That I didn't care WHAT point hit them, as long as something did.
Anyway, time to get back to work. Have an awesome Sunday worshipping our Lord!

Hey O! So nice of you to drop by, and I'm glad you were encouraged by the comment. I remember when I first started, and I was thinking, man people are gonna read this and see those stinkin pictures. I'm super stoked you were blessed by it though, and THANK YOU for the encouragement. A reminder to continue walking with Him and in His presence. Have an awesome weekend, and heck yea! Get some pics up! Esp the "before ones" those are always great motivators! You can even put pics of the family up! We'd like to see those too! They're a part of you!
Aloha and God bless-Brenda
