No problem. It's taken me a very long time to realized that what I look like now is only a reflection of my choices I've made in the past and that the choices I make now reflect who I am in the future.
I really try to keep that in mind so that I can stay more positive about all kinds of things not just my health. So far it has really helped me.
Hi CRAZYCORKY'S ; I am sorry it took so long but here is my recipe for strawberry pie.
1 quart of strawberries wash and cap, lay on towel to dry with a fan if you have one in your kitchen. 1 grahman cracker pre-made crust. 1 cup sugar 1 3 oz strawberry jello pack 1/2 cup water 3 or more Tbsp cornstarch
Line the pie crust with strawberries tip up, starting with large in center out. If spaces take little ones and put in, only 1 layer.Set pie crust aside. Take small strawberries and put in pot then mash them some and put rest of strawberries in not mashed, Mix jello, sugar, cornstarch together in bowl and add water, stir. Pour over strawberries in pot, cook on med high and stir regularly, as it starts to thicken keep stiring until it is at a good thickness. Will not be like pudding but thicken. Turn off and let stand about 5 to 10 minutes and stir a few times. You don't want to pour over the strawberries in the pie shell at the highest heat because it will make the strawberries put out more juice. Getting them dry before putting them in the pie shell helps demishish the extra liquid. Pour over strawberries and if you bought the grahman cracker crust you will have a lid. Cover the pie and refrigerate. I don't like it real sweet so taste the sauce as it is cooking and also if it is not thickening add another tablespoon of cornstratch. Everything depends on how sweet and juicy the strawberries are. Good luck.
Is this the first year you have your own strawberries? If it is you are to pull the blossoms off and not let the strawberries grow. If your patch is a couple years old then you are okay and do you fertilize it in the early spring?10 10 10 is good to use and I also use miracle grow in May to give them an extra punch. My strawberries last until frost, I have 4 different kinds and some end in June and others in October and then the last the first frost. I was making strawberry pie and jams in October last year. Hope this helps you and please let me know how your pie turns out. May God watch over you always.
