Here's to Healthy Living!

March 2012: Starting Over.
Between August 2009-February 2010, I lost 60lbs. I'm not sure why, but I stopped reading Spark pages, not realizing just how motivating they can be. Little by little I've gained back nearly 40lbs, and I am finding it necessary to get serious about getting back on track. I am disappointed in myself, but can't let disappointment stand between me and my goals any longer!

Have been very sad about having to put my dog to rest on the last day of May, and losing my Aunt to cancer early July. June and July have been a challenge for me. Still eating well, but not drinking enough water, and have been very emotional. Haven't lost weight, but haven't gained much either. Just water weight that I can see in my legs. Time to cheer up, and get back on track!

August 31 / 232.8 (+.2) grr... August has been a standstill month for me. I think for September, I need to change things up a bit. And I still need to drink more water. However, I am very close to a 50 pound loss since March. And that's something worth celebrating, right!? :)

Unofficial Weigh-in: September 2 / 229.8 WOWEEE!! A three pound loss since Friday morning (2 days). I finally broke out of the 230s!! And I can tell I'm still holding onto a bit more water. I'm HAPPY about seeing that number on the scale this morning!

Below are the entries I made here on my page during 2009-2010. I've decided to leave them as a reminder that I CAN be successful.

I live in the country, and enjoy rural life. I've been successfully following the South Beach way of eating since August 27th, 2009. My initial goal is to weigh 180, and be a better, healthier, new me. I'm well on my way!

I have really enjoyed looking at other member pages, and thought I would contribute a page to the files.

I'm using the nutrition tracker on SparkPeople, and really love it! It makes keeping track of daily stats so simple!

Weight Tracking
August 27, 2009: 297 (had no idea I'd gotten so heavy...i cried...and then decided to change my eating and exercise habits immediately. I started following the South Beach way of eating, and have been successful! The first month I lost a LOT of water weight. Loss has been slower since, but I'm still showing progress.)

September 30, 2009: 270 (-27) ...I knew I was swollen, but JEEZ, was I SWOLLEN!

October 7, 2009: 266 (-4) (happy birthday to me!)
October 22, 2009: 262.5 (-3.5)
October 30, 2009: 258 (-4.5)

November 6, 2009: 255 (-3)
November 13, 2009: 250.5 (-4.5)
November 20, 2009: New Scale 252 Old Scale 251.5 (+1)
This has been a troubling week for me, and I'm not sure why. I had a lot of water weight early this week that it is taking all week to lose. This is the first time my weight has been UP at the end of the week. I've tracked all of my intake, and am doing well -- I think it's time to increase the activity again... Here's hoping the upcoming week has better numbers for me. I'm so close to a 50lb loss since the beginning of journey in August!
November 26, 2009: 249.4/249.0 (Thanksgiving)
November 27, 2009: 250.0/249.5 (-2)

All weights now from the new scale.
December 4, 2009: 247.8 (-2.2) Less than 1 pound to go for 50#s!
December 9, 2009: 247.0 Not an official weigh-in day, but today marks 50 POUNDS LOST!

Kudos to you for joining us here on the Raw Foodies Team. This will be one of the best decisions you have ever made. Sparkers come here and join this great team for a multitude of reasons. They may be curious about the health benefits of Raw Food and join to learn all about eating Raw. Many join for the weight loss. Many join the Team for a Detox. There are a great many people who do the Raw Food Diet as a Detox but then they realize how alive they feel and how the pounds melted away so effortlessly they decide to continue to eat this way. There are others who will join this Team for the health benefits of a Raw Food Diet. A diet based on raw food can reverse diabetes, arthritis (I personally have experienced this.
