I Can Do This!

I'm a 41 YO mom of 7 kids - 4 bio sons ( ages 25,23, 21 & 19) and 3 daughters ( 12, 10 & 8) that my husband Todd and I adopted 2 years ago. I also have a new granddaughter that was born in Mar 2007.

I have spent way too many years putting everyone & everything else first and forgetting about myself. For the past 10 years I have completely let myself go.

I have finally decided to make MYSELF a priority and take charge of my eating and fitness. I am tired of ...

My Program:
At this point I just trying to eat right, stay in my calorie range & do cardio for 30 minutes 3 - 4 times a week. I want to start out slowly so I can stick with it and make this a life long program I can live with.

Your Pug picture caught my attention--aren't they adorable? I've recently become aware of SparkPeople and decided to take the plunge and join. I'm too new at this to give suggestions to anyone. Good Luck to you! emoticon

So glad to hear from you ) I've been putting everyone else first for the last four years. My oldest son keeps telling me that *I* should be my number one priority. I felt guilty about feeling "first", but am starting to realize that if I don't take care of me, I won't be ABLE to take care of anyone else. Have a great week!

Hi there!

Welcome to the Scared to Post sparkteam!

Well done on making the decision to put you first! Remember, all these people relying on you need you to be healthy and happy....that means doing the selfish thing once in a while!

Take a look at the team message board, you will see that we are a friendly enough bunch! Just step in when you feel comfortable, either by clicking "reply" on any thread, or use the "create a topic" button to start a new conversation. If you need any help, the team leaders are only a sparkmail away!

All the best

Tonia
