I have run a 5k, but would like to improve my time. My weight isn't where I'd like it yet. Still have about 20 pounds to go.
I try to get in 6 days of cardio and at least 3 days of strength exercises. I have been doing the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. It is quite a workout. I alternate that with other exercise.
I am a Kansas farmwife. I love to cook and usually have a big garden every year. I can and freeze the produce, so my family can eat healthier food.

In the past three weeks my mother-in-law passed away at 93, my brother-in-law had open heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm and my son’s mother-in-law has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and is undergoing radical surgery tomorrow. Together with these events, the article came to my inbox as a timely reminder to me that our time here is numbered and every minute that we are given is too precious to waste on unimportant negativity. As Sparkie friends, we are sharing the journey to focus on being as healthy as possible and finding a successful balance in our lives – through healthy eating, exercise and happy relationships – I just wanted to share the article with everyone and I am humbled that it also resonated with so many others.
