Updated 5/31/2017 - And the last 2 years haven't been a whole lot better. Stress is my workout/nutrition killer. Uff Da. But, it's now 2017 and I've lived through things that seemed would do me in, so let's turn this thing, and the stress, around! Need to MAKE the time for me. I know that. But it's not just that. I have a weakness in my hips/lower back and left shoulder that send me to the chiropractor for weeks at a time. Then it seems like I'm just starting over ALL. THE. TIME. But I keep trying. Sometimes losing... but trying. I haven't seen my chiropractor for 5 days now... so let's go!!!!

Had a couple of hard years. Ain't gonna lie about that. But 2015 is a new year with new adventures ahead. And that's how I have to look at this and meet it head on. I've spent 2 years just trying to tread water with everything that's been going on and now this year HAS to be the year I get back to ME. Can I get an AMEN?!?!

Fitness Minutes: 79,692

My Goals:
When I first joined Sparkpeople, I set my goal to be 25 lbs. off by 6/9/09 (that's our 25th anniversary!) - MET it!

After that, I set a 5 pound per month goal and accomplished that for about 5 months in a row for a total of 50 pounds within a 1 year period. Met it!

Last summer I made a goal to get Turbo Fire certified in the fall. After lots of training and practice - Met it!

I've fluctuated over the last year 20 pounds or so, so this spring I made a goal to lose them again. Met it!

Now I'm working on endurance & strength to get over everything my body has been through. Eventually I'm sure I'll focus on getting some more pounds off, but everything in it's time. Strong first, the rest will come.

Those are my goals. I'd appreciate your encouragement & support to hit them. Here I go!


My Program:
I have a handicapped son at home, so, while I tried to get to our local gym at times throughout the years, it just isn't the best option for me. I could sometimes, but not as often as I need to see the results my health needed. So, I found the perfect solution to my situation in at-home workout dvds. My favorite workouts are Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire, and Les Mills Pump. And after I improved my fitness level, I started jogging! I've found that I'm not a sprinter by any means, and the shorter, 5K type races aren't all that enjoyable for me, but I do like the longer distance running. I have done as much as 10 miles, but I really prefer 8 miles. I find that it's a great compliment to my dvd workouts!



Personal Information:
~My husband and I live on a farm.
~We have 5 children.
~Stay at home, work at home, homeschooling mom
~Planting a HUGE garden again this year
~Have 7 apple trees and 3 grape vines, raspberries, asparagus, apricots, plums
~We raise our own chickens for fresh eggs.
~Prefer more natural remedies, essential oils, etc to medicines (prescription or over the counter) anyday!


Other Information:
If I could, I'd either spend my time researching my ancestors/family online all day, or sew/quilt all day (with a little reading thrown in there). But I can't. I've tried that and all it got me was a big butt! LOL I have to get up and MOVE! I'd also like to bake/cook all day, but that gets me a big butt, too! :-(
