CountryCrone

Everywhere in this world called 'the internet' I am known as CountryCrone. Some may say that's such a strange name considering that I spent the first 55 years of my life living on the south side of Chicago in Daley neighborhood. Right!

My roots are country. My very favorite person, my maternal grandmother, was born and raised on a farm in Missouri. I also have great-uncles on my father's side of the family with farms right here in Indiana that we used to visit in the summer ...

My roots are country. My very favorite person, my maternal grandmother, was born and raised on a farm in Missouri. I also have great-uncles on my father's side of the family with farms right here in Indiana that we used to visit in the summer when I was a child.

My mother once said that she spent most of her life trying to hide that fact that her family was 'hillbilly' just to have me grow up and embrace my grandmother's country ways .... she said all of Gram's 'ways' jumped over her and landed on me. LOL.

I love being in the country ... walking barefoot through the fields and woods ... growing my own food and herbs ... 'putting up' everything we don't eat ... sitting and cooking by an open fire ... making my own medicine's and soaps from herbs in my garden.

The rest of my name 'Crone' is what I aspire to be. One time I heard my Gram call herself 'an old crone' and I told her she shouldn't be putting herself down like that. She kind of chuckled and said that it wasn't a put-down. 'A crone is someone who signifies age, knowledge, experience and wisdom.'

So ....... CountryCrone says hello to SparkPPL.

My Goals:
I want to start living healthier and as an added benefit ... lose some weight. I have always been overweight and I know I'll never be 'little' but I would like to be the same weight I was as a 14 year old - 145 lbs.

February 14, 2011...

I wrote that in 2008 - I have higher goals now. I was able to walk away from a 48-year addiction to smoking last April 25. If I could do that I could do anything. I gained 45 lbs more in the process and that's ok with me ... one demon at a time.

February 1, 2012

Now I'm back and fully determined to make SparkPPL my life. I want to lose the 45 lbs and then work at another 45 lbs. This is my goal for 2012. Why should I be satisfied with what was always my 'normal'?

I want smaller ...
I want 130. WooHoo!!!

I LOVE SPARK PPL!!

My Program:
January 2013

I walk 60 minutes on a treadmill everyday which breaks down to about 2.3 miles and a calorie burn between 200-300 calories.

I'm also utilizing the strength-training machines at the gym. I alternate upper body and lower body workouts every day.

Occasionally, I do use the recumbent bike for a half hour or so.

I still love walking the nature trail near our home when the weather allows.

Personal Information:
I am biologically 64 now.

I have been blessed with 5 children - the final 2 came together.

“The one thing all famous authors, world class athletes, business tycoons, singers, actors, and celebrated achievers in any field have in common is that they all began their journeys when they were none of these things.” Yet still, they began their journeys, Mike Dooley

“In the beginning, the price of giving great love is risking that it won't be returned. Until you understand, of course, that great love is always returned. With interest.” - Mike Dooley

“I do believe that the single most important thing I could ever share with you with regard to maximizing the health, harmony, and happiness in your life can be summed up in just two words: 'Love Yourself'” - Mike Dooley
