Small victories lead to big ones!

My name is Christine and I'm 27. I had been overweight for as long as I can remember and had always wanted to lose weight but had never been able to commit to changing my lifestyle or eating habits. Joining Sparkpeople helped give me the boost, knowledge, and resources to make a change. During 2011 I lost 50 lbs total, started running, ran my 1st 5k, and started actually eating vegetables and fruit and whole grains.

Joining Sparkpeople helped give me the boost, knowledge, and resources to make a change. During 2011 I lost 50 lbs total, started running, ran my 1st 5k, and started actually eating vegetables and fruit and whole grains.

My plan in 2012 was to run at least one race a month and so far (Nov. 17, 2012) I have run 10 5ks, a 10k, a 15k, and a half marathon. Running has become a serious commitment to me and I love it too!

I had hoped to lose an additional 10 lbs in 2012 to finally get to my goal weight. Instead I gained back around 12 lbs and had lots of ups downs with my eating. I now have 21lbs to lose to get to my goal weight. When I was actively losing weight, consistently tracking my food was an essential part of my success. I know it's that simple but I have stumbled quite a bit this year. The past 3 months or so have seen me eating fast food at least 5 times a week, neglecting portion sizes, and eating WAY too many sweets!

6/4/3013--I have put back about 10 more lbs. and am right around 180. I have begun tracking my food again...I'm not successful with out it!!!! Also, trying to exercise consistently!

I am tracking my calories on here and trying to eat balanced meals. I am keeping track of my portion sizes.

Running!

Doing some yoga and pilates as strength training. Also I use weights and resistance bands to work out at home.
