From Rearranging to Maintaining

I had to do some major rearranging in my life. At 5'3" tall, I was tipping the scales at 260 pounds. I needed to do something.

I have struggled with my weight all of my life. I can not remember a time when I wasn't on some type of fad diet trying to lose weight.

After many failed attempts, and the realization that years of abusing my body had taken a toll, I decided to look into Weight Loss Surgery (WLS)

Like many people, I thought surgery was the "easy way out" and for years refused to even consider it. I found myself at wits end however, and it was starting to look like a possible option.

I did my research, attended a seminar given by the local hospitals Bariatric Team, and then, with all information in hand, I made an appointment with my family doctor. Together, her and I decided that WLS was a very viable option.

On April 10, 2012 I underwent Roux N Y Gastric Bypass Surgery. It was NOT easy. It was a struggle each and every day, but in the end was totally and completely worth it.

To date I have lost 137 pounds.
I went from a Size 22/24 to a 2/4

Best of all, I have discovered a part of me I never, ever, not even in a million years, knew existed... my inner athlete. Apparently, she was hiding deep inside somewhere I never knew existed.

I went from not even being able to walk up a flight of stairs to completing a 8 Mile Mud Run.

Now, that I have done all of the rearranging - it is working on maintaining all that I have accomplished.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Stupid jeans makers! I got my hopes up and excited about my pants size only to find out they changed them? LOL Darn them!

Leroy and Lucy Cat look just like my kitty!!! His name is 'Tinker', but I call him 'Kitty'. Drives dd#3 nuts that her mom has turned into what she calls 'a crazy cat lady'. She's 12, so EVERYTHING I do drives her nuts, but makes me laugh emoticon

I'll post some pics of my kitty when we get past all the vet drama~

Seeing your kitty pics REALLY cheered me up!

Happy Day! emoticon

Hey Girl!!
Your Grammy sounds like such a sweetheart, and a bit of a character too. Just enjoy her as much as possible. I have told you this before, but I would pay a lot for just one more day at my Oumie's house. Even if she did bully me in the nicest way possible.

Different Note: In that picture, you and your BFF Amamda look like sisters.

Time for me to get some sleep. DH is at a hunting competition for a couple of days, to get his national colors. (I did not know you could hunt as a real sport, may it NEVER get olympic status!!)
They all use the same farm, they have to shoot 3 species on foot in a certain number of days. The judge cuts the game open and allocates marks for a neck, head, heart or lung shot.
Not for me...but DH and his buddies love it.

Have a great day, and enjoy those awesome workouts!

Thanks for dropping in, Girl!
In my exotic part of the world, things are routine boring at the moment. A sick two year old kept me from gym on Mon and Tues. My diet has not been stellar. Need to go into town to get supplies.
Just normal politics and general corruption and crime in the news. Business as usual.

Saw an ad online about a Zombie survival course at a university in California (I think) and it reminded me of you.

Hope you have a great week!!
