Sticking to it for me, for a change

Hi there. You can probably relate, I have tried, started, failed a number of times to not necessarily lose weight but to get healthier and remain that way. It is a lifestyle change and one I need to adopt for life. It's about time I did it and stuck with it. I chose this photo because of the time in my life it was taken, I was in a happy place and quite content with myself. It's where I want to return.

Standing in the grocery store. Hungry. Which i know is a bad idea in the first place... Cookies, chips, bread.... But i am not eating while driving so i'd have to wait until i got home. Hah. Blogged myself out of it... Whew

Wow. Fast forward almost three years later. Not feeling healthy. Up in pounds, rounder middle again. However i am back for the logging and journaling . Its a new day four of wee one. I AM DOING THIS FOR ME!

DAY EIGHT. Doing well, feeling good. hungry right now, but there is a lot of temptation downstairs... cakes and chips. And its cold, so I want comfort foods. Guess I will make a tea and hide back upstairs.

Need to up the cardio this week. I did 15 minutes on the treadmill this morning and had planned on walking the dogs tonight, but hubby has them out now.

I have a few projects stared that can keep me busy too.

Ooooo. DAY SEVEN. Missed a few days already, have been quite busy and baking a lot. Fell off the sampling wagon a little, but hoped right back on. Had a family gathering yester day for my sisters birthday, I prepped a lot of the food (fruits and veg) and sampled most of the veggies. Had a small piece of carrot cake and drank some wine too.

Friday (Day Five) I did a bit of running around all day and baking in the evening, I was so exhausted I fell into bed by 8:15 and didn't get up until 6:30. Food and exercise wise it was a pretty good day. Had the dogs out for over and hour walk, did treadmill in the morning too. Not sure if its the weather that does me in, it gets really damp around here.

Back to work tomorrow, and I am prepared with multitudes of cut up fruit and veg! A step ahead for a change.

Had a nice healthy, properly served breakfast, which I didn't even pick at while cooking (bacon! emoticon ) Could eat it all it looked like so much food spread over my plate. It really does make a difference when you "present" it and sit down to eat, unlike my normal shovel food in my mouth while doing something else.

day three; still on vacation and taking care to be good to myself, a trend i hope to continue next week when i am back at work.

Did a little more cardio, and some weight bearing exercises, i have a pilates class tonight and i still have to walk the dogs, twice.

I served up all my breakfast in nice dishes before actually eating or picking while standing at the counter prepping, wow, that's a lot of food! couldn't eat it all, will have to save my apple for snack later.

Did some baking last night and i did lick the spoon on more than one occasion emoticon , and had to sample the finished product, i did make some healthier version of banana bread. I felt heavy afterwards and did not really enjoy it... something to keep in mind next time.

Off to walk the dogs and run errands. emoticon
