Hi everyone and WELCOME to my spark page!! I've been a member here for years but just re-started my journey in April-ish 2009.

Hi everyone and WELCOME to my spark page!! I've been a member here for years but just re-started my journey in April-ish 2009.

FIRST DEMON:
I had a history of drug abuse... during which my weight dropped from the 115# i had always maintained, to 83lbs ----- (i am 5') The 83# was SICKENING to see IMHO... Not pretty, just very sickly skinny. When I got clean, 5+ years ago, I DOUBLED that 83lbs and ending that first, struggling year weighing in at about 168lbs. Because I was getting my addiction under control I did not sweat it much - Kinda a "first things first" mentality..

The weight, however, continued to pile on... The rate slowed, somewhat.. But a couple lbs a month adds up after a yr or two... That was part of my motivation to get off of it... I tapered down to about 20mg and cold-turkey'd -- It was sheer hell getting thru the physical wd's -- then the mental (ugh) Back to the weight issue tho - within 10mos or so after my detox, I went back to my goal weight.... NO EFFORT!! (as many said I would)

Maintained at a size 2/4 at about 112# for a couple yrs... I was sure that my metabolism was back to normal and unfortunately, I took that as my cue, and I stopped tracking; exercising; etc (dumb) But i did maintain without issues.

SECOND DEMON: I then took the plunge October 09, 2008 and quit smoking... I wasn't really concerned about gaining - I immediately began drinking tons of tea to replace my cigs - not FOOD so I had no worries - right, WRONG!! Stopping smoking inevitably affects your metabolism and I should've been ahead of the game.... I was not. I gained about 20# in the first 6mos of being smoke free. I was back over 130 or so and over the healthy BMI range.

So I am back at Spark to track my calories and began an exercise program :)

Thanks to this site and my determination, i met my goals before, and I'll meet em again!!!!!!!!

04/09 - changed all pics to CURRENT goals - No need to dwell on the size 2-4 i was at a few months ago - I am beginning a new regimen effective NOW so lets look at he PRESENT!!

05/14/09 - Measurements are not off by much, but I may have been in the wrong places... I did, however - lose 4# -- I got into my 27 Silvers last week so i knew it was time to weigh/measure :) WOOT!! Last weigh in was 04/29 @ 129 Current weight - 125.5

ALSO - Got my workout room done -- I'll get pics and post em!! LUV IT THO!! I worked out in it this AM and got such a better work out!! More room to PUNCH - KICK - JAM!!! LOL

05/18/09 - Got my F6 and wanted to note:
Standing - 68-70 Average Exercising HR - 128 Max Exercising HR - 151 (TBL Cardio Max 1-2-3 & Cool down

5/19/09 Average 134 Max 156 (Turbo Jam Cardio Party Remix)

05/27/09 - LUV'g the ZUMBA now!!! Got my HR over 200 for a fraction of a second, but overall I keep it higher and burn DOUBLE the calories compared to Turbo Jam!! Nicolette and I are hitting another class tonight.... CAN'T WAIT!!!

Weighed in Thursday September 17 and to my surprise I lost another 3lbs since my GW!! I am down to 109.7!! I cut my exercise back this past week - Time to MAINTAIN baby!!!

10/10/09 - Decided to get back on the ball... Had a couple "not so dedicated" weeks and really need to get back on track. Like drug addiction I found the maintaining part is MUCH harder than the actual quit/wd/etc. In other words it's easy to GET CLEAN, but a MF'r to STAY that way!! I've found food issues the same way....I am, however, glad I am recognizing this now... and now after I gained back everything I worked for.

THANK YOU SPARK PEOPLE for making this site available!!! IDK what I'd do without it!!

Wow I've read your story and it seems you've gone through a lot! You're an amazing person, keep your chin up on stormy days and pick yourself back up if you fall, you can do it!

Hey Cori,

So I updated my weight in my HRM yesterday, and I think I am going to update my OwnZone settings this weekend if I can figure it out. My heart rate is still averageing in the 150's during my workouts which is good, but I have noticed a small decline in calories burned. Like in my cardio kickboxing class one month ago i was burning 490 cals in the hour, than the past two weeks it has been 450 in the hour. Maybe my body is just getting used to the workout so it doesn't need to work as hard?

Have a good weekend:)

Emily
