On the track to getting fit... Again.
It all started with me hitting my highest weight ever. I felt unmotivated, fat, and lazy. I could eat a bag of Lays and dip in one night, and did on several occasions. I finally bought an elliptical and started working out in the Winter of 2011. I lost weight then I started running. I went from binge eating chips and dip to running 5ks with no prior running skills. I felt strong, skinny, and motivated. I was excited to see myself in a swimming suit. But it didn't last long.
A list of excuses: It's too hot, I'm always at work, I just want to relax when I get home, School is starting, I'm too busy at school. It was one excuse after the other.
I tried to start training for a half marathon, thinking it would not be too much, but I always got worn out and stopped.
Now I have gained all the weight back, feeling unmotivated, fat, and lazy again. I found a 10k training program that I can do. After that I WILL do half marathon training. I promise myself I will complete a half marathon on September 29th, 2012. Wish me luck!

I'm from Iowa. I'm attending University of Northern Iowa for a masters in biology. I study the evolution of flatfish. Which is awesome.

I have four cats and a handful of reptiles.
