Taking responsibility for me

I have this vision of the person I want to be. Some aspects are already there, others I'm working on.

I know I'm the reason if I fall short of my goals. I take responsibility for my own actions which has trained me to have this inner dialog. Excuses for not working out. Excuses for eating that extra piece of pie.

I'm not really hard on myself, but I do need to shut this inner dialog down. It takes time and persistence and from what I have learned here, often ...

I'm not really hard on myself, but I do need to shut this inner dialog down. It takes time and persistence and from what I have learned here, often reminders to keep me on track.

I've been ready to be everything I have ever wanted to be and I'm enjoying the road getting there.

Personal Information:
I'm 34 living in Northern California, Bay Area.

I'm tired of hiding my body behind arms, bags, trees and I'm tired of my weight/physical fitness being on my mind whenever I am doing anything. I believe only I can make the changes in my life so I'm working on it.

I'm a total optimistic too. :D

well, the goal is half there! i went on monday and today. i know tuesday and thursday are nearly impossible for me because i'm at work or school allllll day. :-( BUT, yesterday i did take the dog for a walk for 20 minutes, so at least i still did something. :-) also, this month i have decided to boycott any eating out whatsoever. that includes starbucks, fast food, restaurants, even 7-11. So far it's going well, i have only eaten healthy food i bought at the grocery store. i won't know if i lost anything until sunday, though, because i've decided to stop beating myself up every day about the number on the scale... only once a week from now on! thanks again for keeping an eye on me and encouraging me!!!

thanks for your comments, it's nice to know someone's watching me! i have on and off days now that i have a regular schedule. sometimes i fall asleep as soon as i hit the pillow and other days it's seems excruciating to turn my brain off. i try the breathing thing and also a "tense-and-relax" method for each muscle but i'm terrible at concentrating on those exercises. hopefully with practice comes peace! :-)

Thanks Corinne!

Change takes patience, work and perseverance. Be more stubborn than the scale! Above all, believe in yourself - we all have inner strength and when we tap into it, it is amazing what we can accomplish!
