Getting back into shape!
Oh wow, I really need to find the time to update all this. So much has changed in my life since I first joined Sparkpeople. I can now officially say I'm a marathon runner!! WHOOHOO!! In 2013 I will be running 3 full marathons, 2 half marathons and several 5K's. Also all the pictures here are so outdated! Ran my first full marathon Oct 20, 2012... I posted a blog about that (with pictures). I also ran my first half marathon in 2012 (June) and blogged about that as well with pictures. ...

Update: March 20, 2010 Well I hate to admit this, but after being in maintence for over a year and staying in a 108-110 range, that all went downhill end of Dec through early March... I took a much needed "spark break" and gave my food scale a rest... I also got lazy and wasn't working out. I ended up gaining some weight and now am at 115.6 However, I am BACK and on track again... weighing and tracking ALL my foods again and working out regularly. I will get back to my 108-110 maintaining range and never again will I let myself get back to this 115. I am looking foward to my WI on Monday - I'm hoping that I am at a 113... or at least a 114. I really would like to be back to a 110 before our next Great Wolf Lodge trip April 14-16 Update: Jan 8, 2010 Imagine my surprise when I checked my email today and saw the tons of emails saying I have a new comment on my spark page. I then found out I'm motivator of the day. Thank you to everyone for your kind comments. Spark People is definetly been a huge part of my success. I have been a maintainer of 108-110 pounds for over a year now. I still use the nutrition tracker every day (other than my recent 2 week "break") and the fitness tracker. I drink 12-14 glasses of water every day, I stay in my calorie range every day. And I also feel it is very important to keep my fiber, sodium, calcium and protein in range every day. By keeping these things in range, I am able to continue to be a maintainer. Before SP, I was on medications for reflux - had been on it for so many years (was diagnosed when I was at my heaviest weight of 156) and was told I'd probably be on it the rest of my life. Over the last several months I have been cutting back on my meds and I'm very happy to announce that the last 2 months I've not had ANY medication whatsoever. I feel that by living a healthy lifestyle and lowering my weight, I have been able to stop taking that medication. And I feel GREAT! Thanks Spark People!! June 27, 2009: I only have a minute right now, but I have a 13 yr old girl that was reading over my shoulder when I was updating my status and said "mom, thats WRONG... you're almost 36" LOL Well, not exactly, ok, so I'm not 34 anymore - but I won't be 36 until Dec!!! I guess I am due an update on how things are going. I will come back soon to do so. Right now, I am just trying to be a maintainer. Hello - and welcome to my page!! I'm 34, a home schooling mother of 4, live in KS, and ready to get back into shape and be fit again. I was at my heaviest weight ever in 1999 when my 2nd child was 2yr old - why? I hated seeing food go to waste and what my children didn't eat, well, "I" did YIKES! I went from barely a 100 pounds when I married (in 1993) to 156 in 1999 - I joined a gym in 2000 and my goal was to get as fit as possible before getting pg with #3 - I worked out ALOT and was always at the gym with the children - when I wasn't working out, we'd either be at the gym swimming, or we were at the zoo walking! LOL By 2004 I was down to 120 pounds and very very fit - my legs were solid muscle (I was running on the precor 6miles daily) DH was very proud of me - infact, I was at the gym so often that I actually got a job working there - I stayed until I got pg in 2004. Unfortantly, early in the 3rd trimester we moved (with next to no help) and I was at risk of preterm labor, so I had to stop working out... then by the time the baby came, well, I just never got back into it... When she was 14 months old (2006) I got another job working at another fitness center - but unfortantly, I only went to the gym to work, not to work out. Moved again last year, had another baby Feb 26th this year and here I am. I started here at 139 pounds and I'm so ready to get fit again. I just needed the motivation to get off my butt and do something - I'm lacking in the sleep dept since baby is not even close to sleeping through the night - and well, I'd rather sit and rest than work out! But since joining here, I've had the motivation to do something - I've been taking the children for long walks, either pulling the wagon or pushing the double stroller (wow what a workout) And best thing ever, portion control!!!! I've already lost 3 inches in the waist and 3 pounds in the first 2 weeks being on SP - YA!!! My goal is to get back where I was a few years ago and look and feel good about myself. To be a good example for the children. My short term goal is to get as fit and trim as possible before our annual Great Wolf Lodge trip mid Sept - I want to feel my best in my swimsuit for those 3 days!! :) Going to put my weight loss success here: 6-26-08 Weight 139 (before I bought scale, at dr office) 6-30-08 (no scale yet) Waist 36" hips 39" 7-10-08 Weight 135.6 (brand new Titanita scales) 7-14-08 Weight 137.0 waist 35" hips 39" 7-21-08 Weight 132.2 waist 34.5" hips 39" 7-28-08 Weight 133.4 waist 34.5 hips 39" 8-4-08 Weight 131.2 waist 33.5 hips 38.75" 8-11-08 Weight 130.0 waist 33" hips 38.25" 8-18-08 Weight 128.6 waist 32.5" hips 37.75" 8-25-08 Weight 127.6 waist 32.5" hips 37.75" 8-31-08 Weight 126.8 waist 32" hips 37.25" 9-8-08 Weight 123.0 waist 31.5" hips 37" 9-15-08 Weight 120.4 waist 30.0" hips 36" 9-22-08 Weight 120.4 waist 30.0" hips 36" 9-29-08 Weight 116.8 waist 30.0" hips 35.5" 10-6-08 Weight 113.4 waist 29.5" hips 35" 10-13-08 Weight 113.6 waist29.5" hips 35" 10-20-08 Weight 112.4 waist 29" hips 35" 10-27-08 Weight 112.6 waist 29" hips 34.5" 11-3-08 Weight 112.0 waist 29" hips 34.5" 11-10-08 Weight 111.0 waist 28" hips 34.5" 11-17-08 Weight 109.4 waist 28" hips 34.25" 11-24-08 Weight 108.6 Waist 28" hips 34" 12-01-08 Weight 108.6 Waist 28.5" Hips 34.25" (after Thanksgiving) 12-8-08 Weight 106.6 Waist 28" Hips 33.5" (sinus infection all week) 12-15-08 Weight 109.0 Waist 29" Hips 33.5 12-22-08 Weight 107.6 Waist 28" Hips 33.5" (great job, as we just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this week and today is my birthday) 12-29-08 Weight 107.6 Waist 28" Hips 33.5 - perfect - I should NOT loose any more weight and need to maintain. My Goals:
I want to be able to fit into my pre-Christoper clothes. I'm so frustrated at having to wear the same 2-3 outfits every time I go out - none of which I even feel so good in... I want to look and feel like I did before getting pregnant Update: I'm excited to say that I PASSED my goal. Now I still don't have anything to wear, as all my "too small" clothes that I wanted so badly to fit into, are now too BIG!! I've not been this small since I married nearly 15 years ago. Thanks to the wonderful tools I've been using from SP and the challenges from being on the teams!
My Program:
I want to increase my activity... and decrease my sweets intake (yes, I have a huge sweet-tooth - increased 100% during my pg and now I can't get rid of it) I want to get back into working out regularly and get my calves to the rock hard calves they once were from running 6/miles a day.
Personal Information:
I'm a homeschooling mother of 4 ages 15, 13, 5 and 2yrs
