I strive to have all diet components within range. (fats, carbs, protein)

Personal Information:
I am 66, married 46 years, with 3 grown children, all living out of state. I am gluten intolerant, have asthma, and CLL. I am a pretty optimistic person, and use laughter as a coping mechanism.

Other Information:
Update: I have been with Spark People since July. I had already lost 6 pounds when I joined, and now weigh 26 pounds less than that. I try to exercise 100 minutes a day, and often exceed that. My clothes fit much looser, and I have switched to lower sizes on some things. next week I will go to the doctor and see how 'my numbers' look to him.

Good Morning Cookie...I created a 2014 Word/Phrase forum under general if you would like to copy your word there with how you will use it. If you want me to copy it over I can do that for you too.

Happy New Year and much success in 2014.

Hey Cookie,
You cozy is a good word for it atm. We had plenty of warning so plenty of time to get things in order. I did some prep cooking yesterday and so I am getting ready to make the house smell really good here in just a bit and also as strange as this may sound I had my youngest bring all of his laundry home with him (the one in college) because without him around there is very little for me to do for myself and I kind of miss the smells and the comforting sounds and such... weird I know but it all does add up to cozy as long as we don't lose power.
I know that at least two of my three kids are safely together and staying put til this is all done..
Now if the cows will just behave and let DH come in and get a 'Sunday' rest in ...
Noticed you mentioned at some point that you guys are expecting some ice.. we did that one on Thurs. :P lot's of wrecks and falls... You stay safe out there!

Where is everyone here in this site besides you.

I look to see if people are making comments.

I thought this was a motivating group. Maybe it is because of Christmas plus people are working and exercising. I am not even to that level to exercise. Perhaps I am in the wrong group.

I have looked at some of the articles people have logged.

I am just doing step by step with like two veggies.

Did well first days and now back to start one when I started to have my problems with know glutten free.

I am not eating the rusk now.

Very discouraged. I eat my portions, dont eat snacks at night.

Drink water.

I am finding my inside is not working so great in the morning.

I am like a cat on a hot roof. Four times again in the bathroom but why would this occur if I am not eating wrong things.

Glad your doctor was pleased. That is a great loss.

Morning Cookie,
Thanks for the explanation .. I think I get it. Lately I have been discovering that other areas do things much differently than we do here and so I wonder if this is typical style of heating for your area or just something you and DH decided to do? And also does this make the house smell of a burning wood.. I like smell and find it very comforting. Also does the bag last all night so that you don't have to be concerned about pipes freezing and such? I know, I know always with the questions.. but enquiring minds want to know LOL
I am with you on the cold bedroom too.. now that the kids are moved out... so that means the use of the basement is usually only DH... we can keep the upstairs much cooler.. we like it at about 63-64 F and still run a fan on us at night LOL
Have yourself a good morning :)
