AS TIME GOES BY, AND BY AND BY

I think that this is a good title for my continued weight loss journey. I lost 30 lbs. over the course of 1 year and have gone up and down over the past 24 months. I lost some inches, and I found them back in other places. Exercise has helped. Exercise is just one piece of the puzzle. Sleep is an important piece of the puzzle, as is what I eat from day to day. My blood pressure goal was 135/85; today it is 131/82(and it has been lower) I still am working to loose the weight, but being ...

The SparkTeams are a great way to gain support, and I absolutely love the MysteryReaders team. It is an active group and these ladies really keep you on your toes. and this is all true, so I am still on my journey.
The ultimate goal is to keep the focus on healthy living.

Here we are in 2016. whether you have been on this journey for years or for months, you know it is hard. Natalie Grant recorded a song a few years ago that gives me the strength to keep going when I am struggling. I hope it will minister to you also.

ou are here in my heart
You're the light that guides me through the dark
You walk beside me, the night seems cold each time I fall
Your arms are there to hold

You walk beside me, giving strength I've never known
And I am not alone
You walk beside me
(I am not alone)

You are here in my mind
I talk to you and all my fears unwind
I know I'm loved, for who I am, you make me want to be the best that I can
And you walk beside me, giving strength I've never known

And I am not alone
You walk beside me
Oh, I am not alone
Wherever the road leads

And I rely on your patience
When I face the unknown
And because of you, I am, I am not alone, ooh
I am not alone
(I am not alone)

You're always beside me, yeah, I am not alone
Oh yeah, yeah in the sun, in the rain
(I am not alone)
Through the good times and in the pain
You're always beside me I reach out for your hand
(I am not alone)
I know that you understand, oh yeah, yeah
(I am not alone)

In the sun, in the rain
Through the good times and in the pain
You're always beside me I reach out for your hand
(I am not alone)
I know that you understand, oh

WHat is your favorite Christmas Carol?? emoticon
I challenge you this week before Christmas to read the words to every verse of that carol and meditate on their meaning. Focus on WHO this season is about. May your heart be open to what the Lord will do to show you HIS love this week.
Merry Christmas. Christ the Savior is born.

"In A Bleak Midwinter"

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Our God, heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Enough for Him, Whom cherubim, worship night and day,
Breastful of milk, and a mangerful of hay;
Enough for Him, Whom angels fall before,
The ox and ass and camel which adore.

Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
But His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him... give my heart.

One of my favorite Christmas hymns. Let us remember the baby in the manger who came to give us life, as we celebrate this season.

SOmetimes I feel so discouraged on this weight loss journey. I work so hard and get nowhere. It is those times I have to remember that through Christ I can do all things. this song, written by Geron Davis, says it so well.

Every road I walked had led to nowhere,
Everything I tried had turned out wrong.
It seemed I'd lost a reason,
To get up every morning.
I had lot all hope and lost my song.
Circumstances said I wouldn't make it,
But that was all before I met The Man.
He put His arms around me,
I heard HIm say, "forgiven",
And I knew I'd never be the same again.

Chrous
Then and there, settled and done
Then and there, victory won
No more walking on my own,
No more facing life alone,
No more struggling with guilt and despair,
New life began, then and there.

Now my heart is getting restless,
Longing for the day he'll come.
When we've fought the final fight,
And our faith has been made sight,
And we'll stand before the throne and hear Him say
Well done, He'll say well done.

Then and there, settled and done
Then and there, victory won
No more pain and no more fears
No more death and no more tears
No more walking through the night
For the Lamb will be the light
No more sin and no more burdens to bear
New life began, then and there
