West Coast Contessa......

Hi My name I Melinda, I was born and raised on the West Coast......and transplanted here in the South. Uggg....the South love it and hate it. Love the food(and I shouldn't)...hate the humidity..it just is not right to feel so sticky, yuck! Love it...met the man of my dreams here...hate it....ticks, chiggers, tornados OH MY! This West Coast Girl...ain't in Northern California no more! Thats ok....I love, love, love Arkansas...the beautiful Ozarks...and sweet, sweet people.

Energy up, Calories down...simple as that, I wish! I walk 30 minutes, twice a day, up to 1.4 miles each time. Eating lots of fruit and veggies, minimizing the starches!

Don't let that stop you! There are girls of every shape and size doing roller derby. Most of the tots aren't little girls.....I'm actually one of the smaller ones and I don't consider myself a small person.

I would recommend starting on the carpeted areas just walking. Then work your way up to the wood floors. Try really hard not to land on your butt/tailbone. It hurts for a really long time if you do. Just get some knee pads and throw yourself forward when (notice I said when not if...we all fall!) you start going down.

I know you can do this! I know you'll enjoy it. I know you'll burn mega calories. Those kiddos in that picture would have a blast too.
