Ready to start living my life!!

I'm turning 25 and I have been over weight and unhappy about it for as long as I can remember. I've been going on diets and starting workout plans since I was 10. This time I'm promising myself it WILL be different. This is not a quick fix, rather it's a new way of life. A permanent and positive change in how I live.

My Goals:
Goal #1 - Get under 200lbs. It will feel oh soo good.
Goal#2- Get into a size 14.
Goal#3- Weigh in at 180lbs. This has always been a plateau that I've never beaten.
Goal#4- Make my long term goal of 170lbs. Feel Good!!

My Program:
Changing the way I think about food. Growing fresh veggies in the garden (not bad exercise) and taking walks to local farmers markets. Eating fresh and taking time to think about what my food really is and where it's been. Learning to cook from scratch. Going to the gym or getting some kind of workout EVERY day. Most important learning to take the time and effort to make these changes, even when life is at it's most hectic.

It's the last day of July ...a good time to reflect upon your goals for August! Things to consider may be...

How many fitness minutes do you want to try to achieve?
How many pounds would you reasonably like to lose?
What new activities would you like to try?
What has been working for you that you would like to continue?
What hasn't been working and should be changed?

Not everyone likes to set goals, but it is a valuable tool to use on this journey. Goals help to provide focus and a vision for what we want to accomplish. Even if we fail to meet our goals, the experience provides valuable feedback --- What went wrong? What behavior do we need to change to attain what we set out to do?

Take a few minutes ... challenge yourself with some goals for August!
