My weight has been yo-yo-ing all my adult life! And I'm really tired of it! I want to walk into a room and not feel self-conscious about my weight. After a lifetime of selecting clothes to conceal myself, I want to wear pretty clothes, try new activities & grab more gusto!

Update: I've been with SP for almost 5 yr. Lost the weight in 6 months. Rode the roller coaster of up & down the scale. Finally I'm ignoring the scale , making good food choices & exercising at least 30 min. 6 days/week. Period.

Most important lesson learned: The bad habits that made me fat the first time (and the 128th time!) will make me fat again. This must be a permanent change in my life.

2013: After DH got a new knee & I returned to all my bad habits, I sat around & regained nearly all the weight I had lost.

Started over 3 weeks ago and am now on Day 20 of a streak of at least 30 min. of exercise 6 days/week. Feel better! Clothes fit better!

It's working...it always does. SP is the greatest! Just do it...and it feels soo great!

Thank you! You are so right, being told we look good is NOT something we necessarily think we will hear again!
I am working very hard to figure out how I move on with my mother, I know I will never get the mother I used to have back, she's been gone a long time now. I just have to work on what relationship we can have. Easier said than done, she scares me because she can and does get viscous and I have to come to terms with that.

LOL I don't mean to be scary! ... as for independence.. other than CrossFit when I do something with a partner, we have an agreement.. we start together.. but each individual goes at their own pace.. whoever finishes first waits for the partner.. It still if very rewarding.. and I seem to do better (push myself harder) when someone else is involved.. My niece didn't stay with me during the Redbud ride and I was FINE FINE FINE with that.. I'm a pretty darn independent person... but it was great to have her their to talk about the hills and wind after the ride was over.. so hike your own pace.. do your own thing.. but sharing it with another person either IRL or virtually.. well, it's fun! Thank you so much for regularly commenting on my blog.. your word are always thoughtful and encouraging..

Oh my gosh, Nancy, I am so touched by your comment on my page. Thank you - what a gift to read something so lovely from someone I admire. We had a great visit to see my M.I.L. All four of her children were there to see her and she was so happy and grateful - it was a nice gathering. I hope you had a lovely weekend. You're a doll.

Hahahaha, 17" of snow...welcome home to springtime in the Rockies. Now that I've laughed, I'll probably get something like that in the next two weeks--right on top of my garden.

Nancy, thanks for the Mother's Day wishes. I had a nice one, despite not having my kids or grandkids with me...Salt Lake is just too far a drive for a minor holiday. I did hear from them, and hubby gave me my choice of breakfast or dinner out. I chose breakfast.

It's beautiful in Denver right now, although today and tomorrow are going overboard in the temperature department, above 80! My garden is looking more and more like a garden every day.

Today I have decided that what I thought was seasonal allergies is actually a cold. I don't recognize colds right away because I have them so seldom. This one is untimely, I had an informal interview breakfast scheduled and will have to cancel.

Hope you are home in the mountains and enjoying springtime in the Rockies. Do you have children? If so, a belated Happy Mother's Day to you as well.
