I am starting off the new year with my New Years Intentions to get fit and healthier ~~ I am 50+ years young, and my family genetics are NOT good ones so i have decided it is time to try and offset as much of that as i can. I quit smoking in 2008, and now it is time to take off the weight (again) i gained after quitting, and the weight i have put on from bi-polar meds ~~ they make it WAYYYYYYYY easier to put on weight and much harder to take it off and keep it off! But i am determined to make a new start! And that means eating healthier to feel better, and getting physically fit to feel the best!! Today is a new day, everyday is a fresh start, and we must look forward and make EVERY day count and do EVERYTHING we can to make it the BEST day we can! No excuses! If i can quit smoking, then i can do this! John Q Adams said it well, "Courage and perseverance have magical talisman before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish intothin air!" I am STRONG!! I am CAPABLE!! I am DETERMINED!! I CAN DO EVERYTHING!! I WILL NOT GIVE UP AND I WILL NEVER GIVE IN!! It is all in our attitudes and perspectives. To change everything, change your mind. So i am changing my mindset to one of life! And i am going to live my life the best i can, in the healthiest and most fit way i can, and then i can play and run and jump and dance and laugh with abandon, because i am fit both physically and mentally! Life is what you make it! Make It The VERY BEST you can!! and that is all you can do!! My new motto is: Get Fit and Go Out There and LIVE!!

COLLEENCONQUERS the surgery is tomorrow..will update as soon as possible..should be a nice hopefully simple lapracscopic procedure..not sure about recovery yet, have to ask tomorrow..prayers appreciated..thanks

My Goals:
to lose 70 lbs
to become healthier and more fit
to be able to wear cuter clothes by losing weight and becoming more fit, LOL
to be able to do more and have more energy, to be able to run and play and jump and dance and have energy to keep up with my grandkids!!
to be able to do 20 pushups, 10 pull ups, and a head stand, even if it against the wall !!
To meditate and do yoga/tai chi/qigong (etc) to bring peace and quite and inner harmony to my bi-polar mind!
To use healthier food choices, exercise, fitness and living better to be able to use less medications to control my bi-polar/insomia disorder!

My Program:
learning / educating myself as much as i can about fitness, exercise, healthier food choices / and implementing them into a permanent lifestyle change ..

To work on being physically fit, to work out at least 5 days a week for at least 45 minutes a day, by walking, jogging, and doing my DVD's so i have variety and am more likey to stick with it!!

To strength train 3-4 days a week.

Personal Information:
I am from G.R. Michigan

I love to do all sorts of crafting ~~ crochet, knitting, jewelry making/beading, drawing/painting, pottery, and am trying to learn to play the piano ~~ never to late to start, eh!! I want to travel, love to travel, i love the water, LOVE the water, waterfalls, and lighthouses ~~ i am lucky living in Michigan as there is much beauty here and i am surrounded by water, waterfalls, and lighthouses ~~ a bucket list item would be to visit as many of our great lighthouses and waterfalls as i can ~~ i am a medical assistant, even though i am not working at present ~~ i have bi-polar disorder but bi-polar disorder doesn't have me ~~
