Gettin' fit and Lovin' it!

I am extremely new to all of this so if anyone has any pointers to navigating through SparkPeople and on losing weight, the information will be more than welcome!

I am a Southern, married, overweight, curvy 28 year old mom of 4. I have a 13 year old stepson, an 11 year old stepdaughter, a 10 year old stepdaughter, and my son is 7. They make me feel old and young at the same time!

I am a Southern, married, overweight, curvy 28 year old mom of 4. I have a 13 year old stepson, an 11 year old stepdaughter, a 10 year old stepdaughter, and my son is 7. They make me feel old and young at the same time!

I currently am working for the VA doing medical billing. This involves a lot of computer time so I am not nearly as active as I once was. I want to get back on the health bandwagon and enjoy life!

Last year I weighed in at 285 pounds. I tried doing the whole, real food living with exercise and I lost quite a bit of weight. It's just that the lifestyle was not designed for me. Maybe if I was single, with a 40 hour a week job or something but with me working 60+ hours a week and with 4 kids it was so hard to stick to clean eating.
I currently weight 235. I have been trying to get healthy for about 3-4 weeks now. I have lost about 10 pounds so my starting weight this time was around 245.

I am fully ready now to dedicate my life to being healthy. Yes, I want to lose weight to look pretty and feel good about myself. Doesn't everyone?! But in doing that, I also want the benefits of feeling good and healthy and passing along this information to my kids. They are wrapped up in this technological age and I do not want their health to decline as mine did.

I am hopeful and willing to lose weight but am also overwhelmed with all the information out there. Some of it can be a bit contradictory and I wonder if I am doing things right. Hopefully I can learn from all of you wonderful people that have already taken control of your lives. I look forward to getting to know y'all!

My Goals:
I have a wedding in a month and I want to feel great in that bridesmaids dress!

My overall goal is to lose 95-100 pounds to put me at 135 or 140. I have an hourglass figure and am very curvy so I don't really see myself ever being a size 2!

I want health to be natural for me and not such a struggle. I want to tackle this and let it be my everyday life!

My desire is to run a marathon some day. For charity. That does not even look like something I could do right now so that will be a huge step for me.

I would love to be an inspiration people through my weight loss. I am a newbie so it may be a while before that happens :)

I will add others as the come to mind....

My Program:
For the most part I have removed all forms of processed foods. Especially those that come in a box/bag or are frozen.

I eat mostly fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean meat. I have a little trouble getting the best food I know need to eat due to finances right now but I still make the best decisions I can with what I have.

I just started exercising yesterday doing bodyweight exercises. As I continue to lose I will incorporate things like cardio and weighttraining.

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in South Carolina and as an adult I moved to Cleveland, Tennessee! So I am definitely a southern gal and proud of it!
