Its time for another new me!!!

I started here at sparkpeople in the summer of 2006. By October 2006 I had went from 200lbs to 167lbs. In November a flashflood practically destroyed the place I call home and with all the clean up and in the midst of ending a stressful semester at college I stopped my program and started eating. I figured I could just let myself eat whatever for a little while and get back on track. Well a little while turned into 6 months and I now weigh more than when I started the first time. I tried ...
I tried several times to get back on track after falling off but just couldn't commit myself to it until now. (May 2007) I've realized some things during this past year about myself that I could have never imagined before. I know I am a strong willed person and I have determination to succeed in what I do! I quit smoking May 19th, 2006 cold turkey and have been puff free for a little over a year now. As hard as that was it doesn't compare to the struggle I deal with in weight loss!!!

My Goals:
My new goal for myself is to commit to this lifestyle all over again. I am not worried about what I weigh anymore because when I get obsessed with the number I start to back slide. I am more interested in my health and do not want to suffer from the illnesses that run through my family.

My Program:
I am a calorie counter all the way and make better choices in the foods I eat. I also have been working out 4 days a week.

Personal Information:
My name is Nichole. I am 26 years old. I have been married to my husband David for 5 years. I have 4 children, daughter age 8, daughter just turned 4 and twin boys who will turn 3 July 07. I am a full time college student.

Nichole,

Thanks for the comment on my page.

It is truly funny how small of a world it really is. I have been working at my job for over 23 years (only two months on night shift though) and was recently promoted to Supervisor (grade 11). Have you been working in this field for a long time?

I have been a Pogo player for quite some time too. My name there is artemisbs.

I know how hard it is with the smoking too. Even after I "quit", I would smoke if I went out drinking. After 6 months of that, I decided I was being quite stupid and quit altogether. Thanks to the years of smoking, I have a pleurisy (spelling ?) on my left lung that acts up every now and then....less since I lost weight though. Be strong in the middle of the night....I am sure that you don't need me to tell you that 2 years is great and it would be such a waste to throw that away.

I also see that you have 4 little ones. Cool. I have one daughter. She is almost 22 and has a 6 month old baby boy.....yup....makes me a grandma. She says my name is "nonna" instead of grandma.....Italian for grandma, I am told.

Barbara

PS....Glad to meet you.....another positive about this site....meeting new friends on the same path.

There are times in our lives when a diet may be easier than at other times. In times of stress or tragedy, it may be impossible for us to lose weight. Diets take concentration and commitment. Things may come up to cause us to fall away from our diets, but we need to get started again as soon as possible. Just because we fail once doesn't mean we will fail every time. Pray for God's help and guidance. He will be faithful to help us through the tough times and the times we fail. God will make our way easier through His companionship and comfort.

Your Sparks Friend LaRaine

Nichole, still thinking about you. I hope you have been doing well. I really can't read your page. I think something needs to be changed on my computer. I am getting much slower and slower and yest. I fell out of my chair and sprained a middle toe, it's all black and blue. May have done more damage because both feet seem swollen. Could have been so much worse. I hope your family is well. Your kids are so cute!! Bet they keep you hopping. We just had all our children here for our 60th anniv and were delighted that our daughter surprised us by bringing our great grandson along. He was so cute, 11 months old, almost walking. We will see little of him soon as he and his mom will be moving to Canada. OK better quit, just wanted to say Hi. Betty

Nichole, where have you been and how have you been? A lot of our team members have disappeared. It's scary. Bunny
