Hello. My name is Dionne.
It's the dawning of a new day in my life!
I recently learned that I actually had a medical condition that made it harder for me to lose weight. I have a tumor on my pituitary gland which caused a growth hormone called Prolactin to over produce itself in my body thus making it hard almost impossible to lose weight. I wanted to share this with the world because it is a condition that virtually goes undetected and if you dont do your own research your doctor will just continue to tell you to lose weight and they wont check for it which was the case for me. I knew I was working hard, remaining focused on my food and working out with no results after many many years, i knew something was not right inside of me yet all my doctor would see was an over weight woman who couldnt get it under control and needed to lose weight so that is how she treated me. She even said that I should stop stressing myself out and just have the surgery for weight loss, and Kaiser use to never suggest that not disrespect to those who have gone that route, i also considered it, but I knew something was wrong inside of my body so i had to keep pushing for an answer!!. I put my big girl pants on, went to that doctor of mine and demanded that she test me for PCOS (google it) when she did, it was discovered that my hormone levels were dangerously high and I was sent to a specialist. The specialist discovered the blockage in my brain (after i took an MRI) and determined my condition was a tumor on my pituitary gland which in on your brain.
Since treatment, i am finally starting to see the fruit of my hard work. I would like to encourage everyone to please have this gland checked out and if you have insurance make the doctor do it because they wont if you dont (trust me!) it has made all the difference in the world to me thus far and if I can help someone with my story then the years of pain will have been all worth it!
I visit many pages and im constantly inspired by many of you and the messages your pages provide for yourselves and anyone who is looking for that boost, that motivation or that reassurance of a better brighter tomorrow.
I can and will accomplish my goals. i will lean on anyone who is willing to lend me a shoulder for support instead of running for cover when it gets rough. I will believe in myself and what i can achieve.
Of course i will remain supportive to anyone who needs me, i will never change when it comes to the special things that make me who I am.
I will believe in me, i will continue to believe in you, we can win this battle
The time is NOW.
I have never actually sat and made small goals before, i just at the 100 lbs i need to lose and get overwhelmed! This time im making small goals with no crazy dead lines
Im focusing on losing 3 lbs a week, and as long and i know made a true effort i'll be ok with that!

Un-attachment (as opposed to detachment) is the acceptance that each and every person is responsible for his or her own reality, and that our joy, peace, security, and sense of love is not dependent on any other person or situation. We are each responsible for our own emotional well being.
