Revising, balancing.... Me.

Hi. In late 40's. Married about 10years. No kids/pets. Getting a couple dogs someday (guineas are gone now).

Used to exercise for yrs, 5-6 days weekly. Did cardio, weights, etc. Then injuries, and stilll ate what I wanted since never had to think about weight (seriously) until 10yrs ago! LOL.

So, gained weight, then in pain, couldn't work out. Then finally got some answers to the "pain" and diagnosed w/ fibromyalgia. How lucky! Then got complacent and is "easier" not ...

Working on nutritional, better eating, lose weight, exercise (a little). Also working on spiritual and financial fitness.

Some hobbies/interests! Scrapbooking, health, gardening, my featheref friends in the backyard (birds), pets, garage sales. A couple new hobbies to be determined.

Want to try Tai Chi Yoga as I understand it is slow and easy. Also want to check out Heated Yoga class. Now that would be great!

My Goals:
Want to be more "pain free", and making changes to my lifestyle.

Drink 1/2 my body weight of water (in ounces). About 100 oz's a day to start.

I want to lose 20-25 lbs to start. Then will decide if another 10lbs.

I also want to start walking and do some very very moderate strength training.

My Program:
Drink more water daily at work/home.

At least 4x a week, taking small walks during a break at work, and/or at home after dinner.



Personal Information:
Have fibromylagia.
Love to garage sale, garden, scrapbooking, play online a little, and other projects.

Hi Deb,
I love Doxies, and our two are now 11, but still doing well. Hope you will get another pet when you're ready.
I don't know what it would be like to walk in your shoes with Fibromyalgia - but many here on SP can. We all have some thing or other we deal with; but I know I find great support from all here.

Hi and welcome to the "I Hate Exercise" team"! It's a great team and I know you'll love it!! The team is filled with wonderful people who are fantastic at giving support, motivation, and encouragement. I know you'll love it!

We start a new check in thread each morning. It's not a requirement to check in daily, but I highly recommend posting on it whenever you get the chance. It's where you can go to see what's going on with one another and to let us know what's going on with you as well. And it's also where you will get that extra support or hugs and warm fuzzies whenever you might need it. We have some goals and challenges set up, so check those out and join in where you want. We also have some ongoing games, a question of the day, a wagon thread for those days you fall off and need a helping hand back up, and even a venting thread for those days you feel like pulling your hair out, or someone elses for that matter!

If you wear a pedometer, then we would love for you to join us on the 2009 Steps Challenge of trying to get in a combined total of 25 million steps by the years end. We are closing in on 7 million, so we still have a lot of work to do to reach our goal! Please let us know if you need anything or if you have any questions or suggestions for the team. We are a very laid back team and talk is not limited to just diet and exercise. So come on in and let us get to know you!
