Coach's Dream: Teamwork

The idea of being part of a team seeking wins over formidable enemies (Gluttony & Sloth) appeals to me. One thing I've learned in life is that teamwork is what will change the world.

My Goals:
My long term goal is to bring Africa to Christ.
A subgoal, is to live long enough to be able to do this or at least play my part in it.

My Program:
The main goal requires prayer and openess to new approaches then carrying them out.

For weight loss and health I'm going Spark People!

Personal Information:
I grew up in a suburb of Detroit. My family moved to the San Francisco Bay area when I was 19 and starting in college.
I was on active duty in the Army at Fort Ord, CA. Then I finished 8 years of college and got a job in the Sacramento, CA area. I've been here mostly ever since.

Other Information:
I am a Friend (Quaker) and a seeker of God. I believe God plants a seed in all of us and that we need to cultivate our relationship with Him in order to make that seed bear fruit.

I guess you have left the building ~ at least for now. Come on back and share your wisdom with the others on the Sacramento Team.
Peace ~

coach, thank you for the gps goodie you left on my page! i adore it! now, you've given me inspiration to get going on an exercise program to earn enough spark points to pay you back.... i see your craftiness here. LOL... so how are those late night chaplin calls treating you?? hopefully, you don't get so many but thank you for being there to do God's work.

congratulations, too!!! you are just 4 lbs short of reaching your goal, according to your ticker. how will you celebrate? keep up the great work. it's a wonderful testimony of how rewarding faithfulness can be!

thanks, too for your comment on my blog regarding OA. it is based ont he 12-step approach (which i am completely new to) but i think it's a little more open with its membership. in any case, i am still in the "trying it out stage" but i will admit that so being free of denial is liberating. i'm sure there'll be a period of bitterness soon... but oh well, recovery... sigh!

hi coach.... how are you??? i took a 6 month hiatus from sparkpeople because of depression and other issues. in other words, i fell off the wagon. hope you don't mind but i added you to my list of friends. thank you for your last comment on my blog... i had long departed from spark then but your encouraging words (on the blog comment as well as on the Sacramento and Christian Living Threads) remained with me. i hope you are well. i am officially back at spark now and on track to living a healthier life... let me know how you are doing when you can.

Coach -- Good Morning and Greetings from central Indiana!!! Just stopping by for a short visit and to wish you a good day. One of my short term goals is to visit as many of the SparkPages of members of the different teams that I am on. I try to visit one page per team per day (and, yes, I'm keeping track of the pages I visit; 250+ pages & counting). You are my "Christian Men Iron Sharpens Iron" visit for today.

Nice job on your SparkPage. I really like the SparkPages, and think setting one up is an important step; you have to think about what you want to present, and be willing to put it out there for the world to see/read.

CONGRATS on your weight loss, and best of luck on your weight loss journey. Have a great day, and may God bless you & your family. -- Greg

PS: Thanks for your visit on 10/19 !!
