Mother of 4 grandmother to three. 40 something. Here for friends and to lose weight. I have lost and gained 50 to 60 lbs about 3 times, here to change my lifestyle instead of diet.

2012 - lost 30 lbs from January 1 to December 31. Gained a couple back over Christmas. Trying to lose that couple before Jan 1, 2013.

My goal is to lose 30 lbs in 2013 and to get on an exercise program that I can carry over to busy times. Will be walking again as weather improves ...

2013 Goals:

To lose another 28 lbs (amount lost in 2012)
to get back on a regular exercise program I can live with.
To lower my blood pressure.
I make my life less stressful

My Program:
Track everything I eat, even the little stuff. Be honest with myself about what I am eating.

Let myself have that "no-no" once in a while but with moderation.

Hi there!

Thank you for the teddy bear goodie. It was surely welcome. And for the link to the sugar free challenge. I signed up and am all in.
I noticed VPs note on quinoa. I love the stuff. It basically takes on the flavor of whatever you put it in and it is filling. It is a grain from South America. When I was at my worst these past 2 months, I made lots of chicken soup and instead of pasta, I put barley and quinoa in it and it is very yummy. You can get it at Trader Joes and it is really reasonable. I like red quinoa best.

Quinoa is kinda like a rice with a couscous texture. It's really it's own thing. It's really great for you! High in protein for a grain and fills you up. It's good with lots of ingredients in it and I like it cold or hot. It's worth a try and there are tons of recipes available with it :)
