My life has been a cycle of one yo-yo diet after another...if it advertised on TV or in a magazine, I tried it. I probably lost weight on it; and promptly put back on 2 to 3 times as much. I finally decided to step off the merry-go-round and learn that being healthy was all about eating delicious natural foods and moving my body in fun ways...some call it exercising. Now I'm working on getting my daughter and grandchildren to adopt healthy habits while they are young...why waste all those years sitting on the sidelines watching everybody else?

My Goals:
Reach and maintain a healthy weight for my body in a sensible manner.

Participate in an exercise program that incorporates stretching, strength training, cardio, and core fitness.

Pass along healthy habits to my children and grandchildren. "Teach one to reach one"

My Program:
I joined Weight Watchers in February and have lost 55 lbs so far. I love the points system. I love to cook and create recipes. I've increased my exercise routine by jogging (though by SparkPeople standards it is still considered walking speed) at the Nature Trail by my house several times a week. Next on the agenda is getting my kayak out of the garage and onto the river!

Personal Information:
Originally from Boise, Idaho, I moved to Maryland in 1999 with the military. I have constantly struggled to keep my job because of my weight. I am close to retirement now finally getting this weight thing under control!

Other Information:
I love to garden and craft, play with my grandbabies, and spend time on the computer.

    I enjoyed your blog, you and me are the SAME WEIGHT it's incredible how we ever got so big but now we will successfully lose some pounds so let's give this a blast together!!!!

    Wow Cindy....your exercise program is amazing...I wish I could run...but I have tried it several times...and it is too much for my knees....I applaud you...keep up the good work...

    Currently I am the pre-release coordinator..which means I get the inmates ready for release....its ok...but in September I will be switching and become the manager of the Disciplinary Segregation Unit (the hole)...which means I will be in charge of all the inmates who have become disciplinary problem...should be more interesting....

    Hi Cindy...I have not lived in Idaho for at least 20 years...but my sister still lives there...and so it is always nice to visit....I have lived in Nevada for the last 14 years....I work for the a Correctional Casework Specialist at a large male prison....retirement for me is a few years off...

    Your plan for retirement sounds absolutely wonderful...
