Working My But Off (or at least I hope so)

I have always been overweight but comfortable in my own skin. I was physically - fairly fit. Then I developed a hypothyroid condition and started gaining even more weight and feeling tired all the time. I could barely get out of my own way. I am determined to get healthy.

My daughter, who is also a middle school teacher and basketball coach, had thyroid issues last year. She returned home from basketball camp and spent the next 3 weeks on her back. We took her to several doctors who didn't have a clue what was happening to her. This kid is never still, always working with kids, running at top speed, etc. I honestly thought she had some life threatening disease and was dying. Finally an endocrinologist determined it to be low thyroid and possibly a case of mono. It took her a long time to get back to normal.

Thanks for the comment on my blog! I just found out a few months ago that I had hypothyroidism too. Thankfully the meds are working great! All along I thought I was tired b/c of the kids & extra weight, just like every other mom out there, LOL.
