Hi, I'm Christy. I'm 26 and live in VA. I'm not really here to lose weight, but am working on making healthy eating and exercise into a habit. I just ran my first half marathon and am looking to find a new weekly workout routine where I won't get bored. I am highly motivated by beating my own PRs, so my rewards are all based on fitness accomplishments.

Goals:
**Do 50 consecutive pushups (Reward- use my massage gift certificate)
**Run 1 mile in under 7 minutes ...

**Touch my nose to my knee when stretching (Reward- use my other massage gift certificate)

Without stopping...
**Run 1 mile- Accomplished 6.18.12!
**Run 2 miles (Reward- new running shorts): Accomplished 7.3.12!
**Run 3 miles (Reward- new hiking shorts): Accomplished 9.2.12!
**Run 4 miles (Reward- jeans- $3 at the thrift store!): Accomplished 9.8.12!
**Run 5 miles- (Reward- ??)Accomplished 9.30.12!
**Run 6 miles (Reward- Sign up for my 1st 1/2 Marathon- April 14, 2013!)- Accomplished 10.11.12!
**Run a 5k in under 25 minutes (Reward- plan a date night with my husband!)



Current Status:
CLRWILLIAMS25 Survived my sister's 21st birthday party and a wine festival without going overboard with food or drinks! NSV for sure!

lol, I couldn't resist filling that out. I always like to let the smart alec inside of me out to play, and those surveys are the perfect platform. :-D Thanks for your affirmation of my overall goofiness, lol :-P :-D As for the food porn, I could totally lie and say that it all tasted bland and off... but dang this boy can cook, lol. :-D For a while, my cooking was definitely a big cause of gaining weight for sure, now I cook sensibly, and plan my daily calories around anything special I might be planning to make. P.S. you're hilarious. :D

Thanks for your well wishes! I'm finally back to the land of the living. Though I'm gonna hold off on 30 day shred for a couple more days and just do yoga instead! Sounds like you had some sweet treats on your snow day, but it's only one day. I'm sure you'll be back on track today! Thanks again for being such a good Sparkfriend! emoticon

2) To be honest, I'm just trying to think positive. Without going into too much detail... There have been some unnecessary stressors in my life over the past year or 2 that I have determined was a result of having negative thoughts run the show. When I was able to stand back and reflect on the situation, i realized that I was displaying a person that I didn't like nor believe it. The first step I took was blocking out when someone started to be negative (I have a coworker who just tends to find the negative and bad in just about everything). Next, I started to be mindful of my thought process. Every single time that I would go into a negative thought rant, I would FORCE myself to look at the positive (ie. Negative: stress and uncertainty at work; positive: I have a job, medical insurance, and people who give me challenging projects to grow myself).

I'm hoping to take this new found positivity into the new year as I am a FIRM believer that you get from the universe what you put out. And... it takes a lot less energy to be happy than to be mad or depressed, especially if they are things that you can't control. emoticon

I hope you get tons of motivation from your new hr monitor ; )! It can be very motivating to see good numbers.

I need to step up my efforts and get myself as motivated as I was during that time you just mentioned between holidays! You are so right I was very determined at that time. Not easy getting 100% back in that mind set for some reason but I know that is what I need!
