I'm a 40 year old college adviser and graduate student. The picture is me at 34, shortly before my wedding, when I was 235. On my wedding day I was 250-something and I'm considerably higher than that now :(

I never had any weight issues until my 30's. I could eat fast food every day and not gain an ounce. Now I feel like the pounds creep up if I simply drive by a burger-joint. My sleeping disorder and it's medication contributed to increasing my weight to where it is and it's ...

I never had any weight issues until my 30's. I could eat fast food every day and not gain an ounce. Now I feel like the pounds creep up if I simply drive by a burger-joint. My sleeping disorder and it's medication contributed to increasing my weight to where it is and it's been a painfully slow journey to get it back down while I'm not getting younger.

I love to run, but it hurts my hips and back right now... So I'm spending the summer in the pool. What fun it's turning out to be.

Hello! My name is Nicole. I saw your post about swimming. I, myself, an an avid swimmer. It does take some time and patience but I have no doubt you will be able to get back into the shape you were before. Sometimes your technique may be a bit off but that's always something you can work on once you start getting use to it. Swimming is such an amazing workout! Go get to the pool and try it out. It really just takes patience and dedication but I'm sure you can get back into very easily. Let me know if you ever have any questions or need support :)
