I'm 65, on disability recovering from my 2nd hip replacement. I will also have 2 additional surgeries on both hands this year to remedy both carpal tunnel and thumb joint disintegration. I'm excited they can fix it. Right now just want to be below 200# for the first time in over 15 years. I don't want to have to do knee replacement as well.

I'm a polymer clay artist who is looking forward to retiring after all surgeries are completed.

Really haven't gotten started yet as I'm recovering from hip surgery but I'm at least watching what I eat and being more aware

Greetings Claylady,
We are Arthritis group mates and I just wanted to ask if you had any suggestions for a newbie in clay working. Links etc...? I also wanted to say I admire your posts in the group. Keep doing what you do. It is simply wonderful. Be well and in peace.

Hi,
How are things going with you? Fine I hope! Your crafts look fabulous. I notice you are not tracking your strength training. That must be hard with you hands and hip. But facing surgery, core strength is real important for your total recovery. Have you checked out the exercises on the SparkPeople web site? They have some very gentle ones that build core, upper body, and lower body strength. Some can be done seated or lying down.
Marty, your spark buddy emoticon

Welcome to Sparks. You make some really cool stuff. I too do crafts when my hands are not hurting or swollen. These last several months they have been acting up and I can't do anything right now. But soon I will be cause they are calming down some. emoticon
