I am a stay at home mom of 2. Before my first pregnancy I was a size 8 and would love to get back there before I hit the big 40.

Here's my progress since joining Sparkpeople

My Starting weight was 186 lbs my aims are to lose 36 lbs and wear a size 8 again. I'm 5'8" so 150 lbs is a good number for me, I don't want to go below 145 lbs.

I joined the gym around 11/10/2010 about the same time as I joined sparkpeople.

My diet didn't need drastic changes as I already love to cook fresh food. I just made some minor adjustments like not buying chocolate cookies, I now get my chocolate fix by sprinkling a few chocolate chips on my non fat greek yogurt and a little portion control.

So, the first challenge was getting through Thanksgiving. I didn't expect to lose much that week but if I only gained 1 lb I would be happy. It all went much better than I expected and I ended November at 182 lbs.

Now it was time to try and break through the 180 barrier (why does changing that middle digit seem to be so hard).

One week later I am at the barrier but not through it but 2 lbs in one week is great and I am happy to be losing weight in a healthy way.

Now into December and it will soon be a month since I started putting some effort into this. I am going to the gym 6 days a week, alternating the strength circuit and cardio on the elliptical.

One month on Spark and I have broken out of the 180's. 179 lbs, that's 7 lbs in one month. I am happy with that. If I keep going at that rate I will be where I want to be by the summer. I am also happy to have less than 30 lbs to lose.

I must be doing something right because the weight and the inches continue to drop off, my weights on the circuit are going up along with the resistance on the elliptical.

Time to step things up. I have a personal trainer session booked for 12/27/2010. I know the weight loss is going to slow down as I reach my goal so I am going to get some other focus and the weight room at the gym is where I want to go.

As of 12/22/2010 I am 174 lbs and heading to iTunes for my 175 lbs goal reward. (10 new songs for my cardio)
