Why Am I Here?

I finally buckled down to weight loss when I lost my health insurance about 2 years ago. The insurance company would not let me reinstate the policy, nor could I find another policy, due to my weight. Since I am an only employee of a small business (have been for long time) I cannot get a group insurance policy which guarantees insurance for all employees.

Since I am an only employee of a small business (have been for long time) I cannot get a group insurance policy which guarantees insurance for all employees.

I joined First Place in Jan 2008 at my church. This includes food tracking, exercise, as well as Bible Study. Since that time I have dropped about 35lbs. Though I pay higher premium than most, I have been able to find a major medical insurance policy recently.

Knowing I still have a very long way to go, I joined SparkPeople while my First Place group took a break. So, here I am.

The youth pastors wife & baby are coming over later for dinner. He is taking college courses and needs to study so won't be with them This will probably be our last get together before they move. emoticon

My mom had a lot of iris too. Maybe that is why I like them so much. I was lucky here. The lady who we bought the place from planted lots of flowers. Not to crazy about the weeding but do enjoy the flowers. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Wow! Thanks for the shoes! They will be really great for hiking when we go camping in the mountains the end of June. Hope the storms are leaving you along. We have actually been getting some real rain the past few days. There are actually puddles which doesn't happen often here. No big plans for the weekend. Steve just has tomorrow off and he is going to work at the church doing so wiring & installing new lights in the youth loft of the fellowship hall. Since he will be busy a friend & I are going to the Tri-Cities and going to check out the thrift stores down there. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you for the goodie. Having family here this weekend has helped keep my mind off of things. I have no doubt where Loren is and that is a comfort. I don't know how people cope who don't have that assurance.

Thank you for the coffee! I haven't slept well for the past 2 days. Keep getting woke up! Hope you have a great weekend. Our son-in-law & 6 year old grandson are visiting & we are going to a dinosaur exhibit!
