Developing a Healthier Lifestyle

Hi, I’m Clare. I have been with Sparks since August of 2006. I enjoy the “Sparks Life” because I like being on teams that involve challenges and they help me be accountable so I can stay on that “ journey” of healthy living. I am a grandmother of 5 granddaughters, 1 step granddaughter and 2 step grandsons. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with family and working in vegetable garden in the summer months.

My Goals:
To feel energetic. To firm up my tummy. Choose to cook and shop wisely for healthier foods by making better substitutions from what we use to eat.

My Program:
Eat 3 veggies-2 fruits per day, whole grains 2X/day, keep sodium in range, exercise 6x wk, 2x strength train/wk and drink 6-8 glasses of water every day.

Other Information:
I like gardening, a good movie, christian music, "Oldies" rock n' roll, classic country, singing, and photoscrapping. I like to collect lighthouses and most of all I love spending time with family.

I'm not working, which makes a big difference. Had a desk job when I gained all this. Plus, I count yard work, gardening and painting which has to be done anyways. Best wishes.

Thanks, Clare! The lost pound happened only because I put on a pound of water weight this week. And the 1000 minutes are only me doing what I do every day. 5+ miles of walking and other short routines add up!
