My beloved #1 baby - my grandson at one year old
And grandson 8 years later - trying to be tough guy, but has a heart of gold.
I just deleted my last intro text from 2011 because it's too painful to read. I had lost 17 lbs and was so happy with life.
Now, I am morbidly obese, depressed, and disgusted with myself.
I have to do this for my health, my family (including that gorgeous grandson who is now 15!), but mostly just for ME.
Get healthier and happier in 2011!
Wear a bathing suit (without a skirt or coverup) by June.
Lower my blood pressure.
Finish reading The Spark book.
Portion control and tracking EVERY bite that I eat.
Eat no fast food and as few processed foods as possible.
Make low-sodium foods a priority.
Exercise at least 20 mins a day.
I am a mom and a grandma and share my home with a crazy Bichon and his even crazier cat buddy.
I live on the Florida east central coast within walking distance of the ocean so have no excuse not to exercise year round.
Right now, I am enjoying Walk It Out for Wii and hope to start yoga and strength training soon on Wit Fit Plus.
My other favorite pastimes include: photography, digital scrap booking, geocaching, cruise ship travel, genealogy and cooking.

I want to thank you for your detailed comments on the Menopause Quiz. I'm 49 (soon to be 50) and about a year ago I really felt I was losing my mind (as in, "Where did it go?"). I had some perimenopausal tests done, and they found a really low FSH level. Because that can mean cysts, then I had an expensive MRI done. Which revealed nothing (okay, so I was relieved with the outcome, but NOT the bill). My brain has calmed down now, on occasion I take St. John's Wort which calms me down from anxiety. I am thankful that you shared your feelings, especially the mental ones; that helps me feel I was right in thinking that I was beginning to experience perimenopausal symptoms. P.S. My mom had a hysterectomy, so I can't ask about her menopausal experience, and I'm the oldest female in the family, so there is no one older to "pow-wow" with.
