We had family visit this summer and spent a day with them in Seattle. We walked all over the place. I had such a tough time keeping up with everyone - next time I have the chance to spend a lovely, summer day in Seattle, I want to be able to keep up!

I didn't start gaining weight until I got my first office job and moved out of my parents house. Here I was sitting at a desk all day and discovering the joys of making ALL my own food choices. I had embarked on a sedentary journey through life and steadily gained weight. The women in my family have a long history of weight problems, but somehow the skinny, teenage me always thought it wasn't going to happen to me. I've never been strong in the area of self motivation, so here I am looking for support, motivation and help when I need it. I promise to do the same for you.

My Goals:
I need to lower my cholesterol and would prefer to do it without medication. My husband and I are going to take up kayaking together, I want to be able to keep up with him and really enjoy it. Live longer for my family and be motivating for my mom - who has struggled with her weight for years and is now struggling with lots of health issues too.


My Program:
Bellydancing 3x/week
Reduce high cholesterol, fatty foods in my diet (primarily butter and full-fat cheese)
Increase fiber content in our diet (my husband needs this and it surely can't hurt me any)



Personal Information:
I live in the foothills of Washington state in a beautiful home with a view of Seattle and the surrounding mountain ranges with my husband, a cat, 2 dogs and a flock of chickens!


Other Information:
I love to read, in fact I rarely go anywhere without a book. I have recently learned to knit and I absolutely LOVE to cook and bake. When it comes to baking, cookies are my specialty. My goal is to make my overall diet healthy enough that I can still indulge in my own baking without sending my cholesterol further through the roof!
